  4. Love is like Starcraft on StarCraft Cheating Scandal Rocks Korea · · Score: 4, Interesting

I really like watching commentaries on SC games. I started watching them a few weeks ago and I'm HOOKED.

Now I'm not a great RTS player. And I've never enjoyed watching sports on TV - basketball, football (English or otherwise) or even the way overhyped olympics - I just never cared.

But Starcraft is something I can somehow relate to. Especially Starcraft 2. myself, not being a good player, I see all sorts of strange tricks I wouldn't have seen otherwise.

Micromanagement tipping the results of battles in ways I wouldn't have even imagined. All kinds of strange tricks involved - it's mind-blowing sometimes, and really... really exciting.

The other thing is the commentators are very useful. They call out the strategy, which really helped a not-so-good player like me. you get some insight into their thought processes.

I knew Koreans were into Starcraft, but I didn't know they were THAT into it. I feel kinda sad now. As I see it, it doesn't matter who wins at Starcraft, I just like watching the game and could never imagine placing bets on it.

I play the occasional game here and there. I stole a few, sure.

But for instance I just bought the Orange Box two weeks ago and I'm not regretting it one bit. I bought Torchlight because it's some of the most fun you can have for $5 (steam sale). I'm going to buy SC2 because it's going to be an awesome game, etc.

I like buying good stuff, or "ok" stuff for a good price. I don't however like the idea of paying $50 for a shit game. (Looking at you, 90% of the market)

I have two screens. I like it. I play the occasional game. When I play a game, I look at one screen. It's a shooter. It has my target right in the middle. I want to be able to glance at the screen and see EVERYTHING.

The bezel just means there's this clear border - "this is screen 1, this is screen 2" and makes it hard for me to imagine anything else.

The other thing. Why not get 3 screens? That way you get a clear middle and then two more screens you can do stuff on.

    Oh yeah. It's everywhere.

For instance around late March and early April we'll have passover. It's forbidden to eat anything yeasty or something like that on passover, so no beer, whiskey or more importantly: bread.

See, I always bring a sandwich with me to work and eat at my desk. It's what I do. I like having my sandwich for lunch because I don't feel like heading to the kitchen. But now I'll have to find an alternative because my office is apparently supposed to be kept kosher for passover.

Nobody honestly cares in my department, and not in any of the neighboring departments, and not my boss(es).

How can I have my sandwich without bread? :(

Ads have tuned down a bit since a few years back, so I'm actually not as inclined to block them anymore. Except, like I said, if it's Flash or I'm at work.

Also, ads on Israeli websites make me want to kill myself. They're so intrusive. Popping over text as a flash graphic for instance.
