I can assure you it's not nearly necessary to engage in massive and blatant gaming of Slashdot just because you think the forces of evil are after you.
All one has to do is look at your posting history and realize that you are modded down because Slashdotters are sick of being brought down by association with you.
Nothing whatsoever justifies what you've been doing. Nothing.
Assuming for a second you are not, it's very telling that your reply is exactly 2 minutes after twitter's post. More importantly, what exactly is the point of your reply? "Good on you"? More likely you are simply replying to your own post to see if you can bring attention to it, which is a game you've been playing for a while now.
being blown out with malicious moderation
I don't see anything malicious about this, you are being moderated negatively because you deserve it. It makes no difference how much you claim you are being "unfairly" targeted by misrepresenting and exaggerating what other people say about you.
For the record, this is not me. Someone (and by now I'm starting to have a pretty good idea of who it is) has been creating accounts with variations of my alias, and using them to troll Slashdot:
I can't stand the location of the Fn key on my T43. After almost six months of using it as a replacement for my old Toshiba, I still hit Fn instead of Ctrl. I don't think I'm ever going to get used to it. Which is a shame because other than that, it's a fantastic machine.
I pretty much loathe having to work on the thing without the dock and keyboard. Which is kind of dumb for a laptop.
I would hold off on accusing whomever this is as being the work of you-know-who. Other than the fact that these accounts seem to be active at the same times during the day that some of you-know-who's sockpuppets, there is no real evidence of a relationship.
The "Hitler" bullshit is interesting and to a certain extent revealing for various reasons that I won't go into here, but that could be just a coincidence. Still, he could be posting erotic stories about CowboyNeal instead of this, so we'll see. If it's him, eventually he'll screw it up.
twitter is slightly racist (although that's like being a little pregnant I guess). You won't see it every day, but it's there lurking under the sheets.
The reply to your post below by "willlyhill" (account created yesterday specifically to disrupt anyone talking about his sockpuppets) and the othertwo are pretty much confirmation of that.
Who cares who posted it, it's a legitimate news story from a fairly reliable source (computer world). This story is of interest to the tech world in general.
Yes, yes and yes.
And no, I'm not a twitter sock puppet
No, you're not. All of his accounts (other than the twitter one itself) except one have UINs above 1.2M.
this article looks like a pretty straightforward summary of the article it links to. This particular piece is not in any way "hysterical FUD."
Agreed on both counts.
Do you add anyone who responds to twitter's posts or reads his journal to his list of sock puppets?
No. Even in the one instance where he created another account (freenix), it was not added to the list until he actually used it to shill his own posts.
Be careful when you reply to him though, and for whatever reason not agree with his views. He'll add you to his "M$ defenders" list.
How rich is it that you ended up being modded up here, twitter. You've pretty much stopped pretending now, I see.
But seriously, are you really posting these? It seems to be too much of a coincidence that those accounts seem to be posting at the same time you come online, especially this one.
If that's you, I suggest you go get that professional psychiatric help everyone has been telling you about.
No, I don't think it's twitter. This news is on most tech rags now, so it follows that more than one person would eventually submit it. twitter spends all his time writing up "M$ teh evilz" journal entries that no one reads, so it's not surprising that he also posted it, I guess.
The fact that he's descended on this article with quite a few of thesockpuppets is just a reflection of how juicy this article is for him.
There's an interesting new development though. He seems to be creating new accounts dedicated solely to GNAA-like trolling:
I wouldn't pay much attention to these except for the fact that they seem to be active at the same time all of twitter's other "legitimate" sockpuppets are as well.
Thanks for the "young one" bit, that made my day for sure *grin*
My comment about Excel was really a general one in regards to how the business world relies on a tool that most developers consider inferior (especially in the context of things like mainframes), not an endorsement of Excel itself. Whatever they are using in 10 years though, I'm pretty sure it will be some sort of variation on the spreadsheet.
You have a point. But, the more he does it and gets modded up for it, the more shilling and complaining of his own moderation he can do, as he has repeatedly proved that honesty is not a trait he cares for. More importantly, Odder is the last account of his (out of ten) that has positive karma, and as such he's probably getting moderation points on it, which he can use to mod his other accounts up or mod people like you and me down at his convenience.
I will take my offtopic moderations just to make sure other people who post legitimate replies to his astroturfing know what they're getting into.
Once he starts replying to himself with multiple accounts, anything he had to say becomes irrelevant.
Your reply to this post as twitter (and the subsequent one as freenix) could have easily been made here, in a single comment. Why do you insist on shilling your own posts this way?
I was hoping you wouldn't use this account to shill your posts the way you've used all the others, but it's obvious that instead of being part of Slashdot, all you want to do is abuse the site. I added your "freenix" account to my journal.
Which you could have quoted and linked to in your original post without having to resort to using multiple accounts in the same thread. You're not even pretending anymore, you just paste the same links with three different accounts to see which one sticks.
That's very cute. Unfortunately your list is for supercomputers and supercomputing clusters, which in general have nothing to do with mainframes and midrange systems, used in business. Which is the topic of the article.
No one ever got modded down on Slashdot for that kind of playground bluster of course.
I can assure you it's not nearly necessary to engage in massive and blatant gaming of Slashdot just because you think the forces of evil are after you.

But the "Hyperbad" thing was nagging me... until I remembered this.
It's from the same link collection provided by zioter and friends. But it's funny that he left the "Hyperbad" link in the body of the JE.
I would bring to everyone's attention the fact that he has not posted at all in the last two days
He has. He posted with the Mactrope sock yesterday. Doesn't mean much, though. He could have two IP addresses available and only troll from one.
For the record, this is not me. Someone (and by now I'm starting to have a pretty good idea of who it is) has been creating accounts with variations of my alias, and using them to troll Slashdot:
http://slashdot.org/~willlyhill
http://slashdot.org/~wi11yhill
http://slashdot.org/~willyhilll
http://slashdot.org/~willyhlll
This is not the first time this has happened, but it seems that the point now is to disrupt rather than merely game the moderation system.
I pretty much loathe having to work on the thing without the dock and keyboard. Which is kind of dumb for a laptop.
Ah, I found the original.
The "Hitler" bullshit is interesting and to a certain extent revealing for various reasons that I won't go into here, but that could be just a coincidence. Still, he could be posting erotic stories about CowboyNeal instead of this, so we'll see. If it's him, eventually he'll screw it up.

"He"?
I don't even reply to most of his posts, it's impossible to keep up with so many accounts. Don't have that much time :)
I just wanted to point out that I don't agree with the AC that posted about how this was submitted by twitter.
Yes, yes and yes.
And no, I'm not a twitter sock puppet
No, you're not. All of his accounts (other than the twitter one itself) except one have UINs above 1.2M.

Agreed, but at least I do it with only one account instead of eleven.

He probably got confused when switching accounts. Happens all the time.

Whatever they are using in 10 years though, I'm pretty sure it will be some sort of variation on the spreadsheet.
Except that you don't have to, so your point is irrelevant at best and flamebait at worst.
I will take my offtopic moderations just to make sure other people who post legitimate replies to his astroturfing know what they're getting into.

Your reply to this post as twitter (and the subsequent one as freenix) could have easily been made here, in a single comment. Why do you insist on shilling your own posts this way?
I still hope you'll reconsider this behavior.
What are you complaining about anyway? Your twitter post got modded up, which is the whole point of this sockpuppet charade you play.
I know, but thanks anyway.
Which you could have quoted and linked to in your original post without having to resort to using multiple accounts in the same thread. You're not even pretending anymore, you just paste the same links with three different accounts to see which one sticks.

"M$"? "the soft"? Thinking a company is "smarter" than another because of their stock price?
