That is actually a great idea. I might start developing a work commuting simulator. Driving to work in real time. Spend up to 2 hours on congested freeways per trip depending on actual server load. With all the great distractions of way-too-cheery morning radio show hosts and spilling hot coffe on your lap (cup holders can be purchased at higher levels, or stolen if you are a rouge character). That is time well spent on those boring weekends or for the unemployed. A game that with a huge potential demographic.
Just looked at some screenshots of KDE4. It looked like Vista. Why do the always have to emulate a current Windows version for looks? Windows has _always_ been ugly. Vista especially being hard on the eyes with it's glossy black style.
Miro http://www.getmiro.com/ goes quite a way to make streaming media and video torrents an enjoyable experience. It is sort of the iTunes (without store) for video.
I own 2 pairs of AKG headphones, the 301 and K26P. They are very sturdy, I can't count how many times I have run over the headphone cable with my office chair on a stone tile floor or been yanking at the cable. Maybe check out AKG the next time, they also sound great.
I the same vein I have never understood how it ispossible to keep U.S. citizens from entering Cuba. A law that prohibits you to visit a country I cant even start to imagine any reasoning for that. I always wondered why they never extended that list. Maybe Canada, so you can't go there to drink underage maybe.
The dilemma is that we as consumers know about the working conditions, yet we condone it by purchasing the goods. To pay your workers a decent wage relative to the countries economy is one thing, to let them work in un-humane conditions is another matter. For us in the west to accept and passively condone it is unacceptable on moral grounds. Having said that, I am just as guilty as anyone else, I also buy keyboards and other electronics manufactured in china.
If anyone really, the media (TV, print ect.) should step in and educate. I bet if Regis did a bit on some common sense ways to spot and avoid spam and phishing, that I am sure would go a long way to educate the average joe/mom about the dangers. Or a 60 minutes on Spam. A bit on MSNBC. I column in a monthly rag.
In my experience people are very curious and/or afraid of getting infected or spammed and enjoy any helpful information that they can put to use right away to protect themselfs.
Actually worse. In case of a german GM brand "Opel" various decisions by outside management that was installed in 90's ran the whole brand pretty much into the ground with highly unreliable cars. A case where they were too arrogant to realize that they do not understand the requirements of the german market better than a local would.
Don't be arrogant and put the blame on the reader. It's called journalistic writing and typing a good summary does take a bit of care. Adhering to some basic writing principles, like the inverted pyramid, would go a long way even for a lowly summary writer/story submiter: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inverted_pyramid
Any right-click behavior that is not standard browser gui behavior is controlled by JS. That is why it did not work for you. You will have the same experience if you turn of JS in any other browser.
Yes, I am surprised that even Chrome has a higher usage share, considering Opera is actually a very good and useable browser and has been around for a long time. It would actually be a great all-in-one solution for many since it is a great browser, email client and torrent downloading in one application.
I just because you have an opinion doesn't mean have to hear about it.

Same in europe.

That is unbelievably expensive (compared to Europe). Is there no competition?
Power consumption/saving the earth/living green/conserving fossil fuels/EMF pollution? Disclaimer: I never turn off my laptop and hate rebooting.
Do you want it to be?
Do you really want to this thread to go on ad infinitum?

How true. Give me a touchscreen chinese MP4 Player add USB host functionality, LAN and flashable OS and i Have my netbook of choice.
I love those switches, gives me a warm fuzzy feeling thinking about them.
I wish I had mod points. I feel the same way about my fingerprints and DNA.

And why is /. always a few days behind any other news source?
Being a /. editor must be a posh job.

How you prevent blatant spelling mistakes in your summary?
How much per minute do you get charged? In Germany most prepaid services charge 9 Eurocent per minute.
I want one, if prices right (around 300) it will make for a great media center pc.
