    No fortune teller believes in their own powers any more than a stage magician does. To provide customers with a skillful illusion requires the awareness of building the illusion - the fortune teller has to cold-read their customer, provide vague hints and leading questions.

    That said, a fortune teller doesn't have to be a fraud any more than a stage magician does; it can be a nice form of entertainment. The difference is that far less customers believe in stage illusions than in fortune telling, and fortune tellers - once they have stumbled across a gullible customer - will often proceed to fleece them for everything they own.

    How likely do you rate it that a random malware author will put special safeguards into his spam botnet worm to ensure it does not interfere with the operation of a medical device should it happen to infect one? Right now, this cross-infection is unlikely due to incompatibility - in the future, the platform running on a specialized medical device could be susceptible to the same viruses as a desktop computer.

    Apparently you can and will get groped or cavity-searched for no reason, or denied clearance because your baby is on the no-fly list, but they do let you fly with a fake ID and invalid boarding pass. That's very sensible.
