VLC's programmers should improve the interface in one key aspect that has boggled my mind for a while:

Because most of the world cares about how the video player performs rather then how it looks. When I use VLC I want to press the play button and have the whole thing go away until I'm done. At this very moment VLC does just that.

I would like to see video and audio controls on the active default interface. At the moment, if I am watching video and want to adjust contrast, saturation, brightness etc

This puts you into 0.00001% of VLC users, besides VLC is open source so if it's that important to you make your own damn interface.

Too many steps for a simple thing in my opinion.

If it were a simple thing, most people play with equalisers for 2 minutes and never touch them again for the rest of the gadgets/software lifetime.

There is nothing wrong with the VLC interface.

    You're missing the point,

Wages that are drastically lower then the average cost of living is not better then the current situation. Yes this will lower the cost of living in that area but will also lower the quality of life (education, health care) effectively creating an underclass, essentially modern day serfs that become dependent on their company to feed, clothe and shelter them.

What needs to happen is for industries to be set up that cannot be effectively filled by foreign workers with little education, this means improving your education system so that the average worker becomes the equivalent of the top 10% of Chinese workers.

Do you think the situation in the Rust Belt will be improved by reducing the rust belt to a third world nation? This is what you propose.

You'll also note that new wired networks are becoming more rare. No point in seeding exchanges and laying 100's of KM of copper for DSL or even land line phones when you just set up 3G towers. In many places in the 3rd/developing world it's cheaper and easier to deploy a cellular network then it is to try to establish a landline network. Especially as quality isn't as much of a concern. Africa is like this, even Asia once you get out of the big cities.

Rich countries like Japan, Sweden and Australia (provided Jesus Boy doesn't ruin it) can afford to lay out next gen fibre networks to houses. For poorer nations it's cheaper and easier to drop 3G towers everywhere then to roll out old copper networks and get the same net effect (phone and internet to the majority of people)

Secondly, If he is having unprotected sex with multiple partners while infected with AIDS, would you lambaste the nurse who publishes his full medical history demanding that they should have kept this secret.
