1. How is this remotely related to technology? 2. PART of ONE neighbourhood received an evacuation order... and this is world-newsworthy HOW?? 3. How the fuck does MAGMA flow on the SURFACE??? We are nerds, remember. 4. This is local news to Big Island, Hawaii. And our story is from... a Chicago newspaper? WTF.
Is the whole point of this post so that neckbeards can make "Puu oo" jokes?
I am not faulting your parenting - but in my case I refused to order a SSN for my daughter. She can apply for one when, and if, she feels she needs one when she gets her first job.
I wonder if this is feasible for many people? Probably not, as you need their SSN to claim them on taxes.
I think this is kind of standard for businesses that have a stake in the United States. Tech companies I have worked for have restrictions from making sales to Iran or North Korea. Isn't there an embargo? It changes almost every year it seems.
Question from me is, how did Apple EVER be able to make sales to Iran?
They used CGI to reproduce the actress pretty much as she looked in 1986 (or whenever). I think that is what he means by hologram. My problem is the actress Sean Young should have been paid for the use of her likeness. I doubt she was.
I wrote the above on my phone this morning, and then browsed to salon.com to try it out. And you know what? There wasn't a single article I was interested in reading. Too bad...
I thought the original SPAM was cross-posted News (NNTP) postings. Wasn't it only later applied to emails?
I would appreciate the input of a neckbeard here.

CCD is not an issue in the EU.
I had no idea! I always thought GIFs were zip compressed BMPs, with a few extra stupid features added like animation.

Why would a GIF reduce the resolution and colours? I thought it would just make the file much larger.
And most of the "snow" is just background stars, are they not?
Or fucking echo Ctrl-V Ctrl-A
When I was young the programs were play and rec.
Nobody is a "rocket surgeon". At some point you have to admit that a university degree is an IQ test.

Wow. I got trolled hard.
That's 360 kts!
He was the article submitter.
What the fuck are you talking about?
Like what? K's cramped apartment? Or you mean the wasteful stairwells where there could have been a less film-friendly elevator? Or???

Oh, I forgot how to divide. Each computer is worth $3.3X10^3. They must be ordinary computers with bitcoin cards.
At USD 2M, I am guessing they are rather large? Or, maybe not.
I don't get the fuss. If they are compromised, they are compromised.
*bang bang bang bang*
President Trump: I think the problem must be originating from some fantasy universe...
This is also why I read slashdot :)
"light an energy" should read, "light and energy" but what's a /. submission without an error introduced by the editor.
Thanks for the nerd news. This made my day.

Oh, really? I had no idea.
