Democrat-led Senate. Democrat President. Republican GOP. Shutting down Yucca Mountain was a goal of President Obama and he worked with his own DOE to make it happen. President Obama submitted continuing resolutions that tied elimination of Yucca Mountain funding to military expenditures - so it was either shut down the military or shut down Yucca Mountain. The Senate (led by Harry Reid) loved that as well. Definitely a priority for the President and for half of Congress - such that they were willing to eliminate funding of Constitutional duties of Government before they let it keep running.
Not really smart to put your utilities hanging on poles when where you live has lots of trees, hurricanes, and the occasional freezing rain/sleet storm in the winter. Tends to bring said utilities down - just as easily as flooding. And flooding tends to be a LOT less regular of an occurrence.
Msmash is, in fact, an AI/robot, trying to throw us off the trail of their takeover of the world! "Pay no attention to the robots and AIs gaining on you, it's all, uh, well, - not real?" Msmash - you've been outed!
It has to be on value, is my understanding of how tariffs are applied. Doing a sliding tariff based upon believed transgressions of one sort or another are not allowable. Consider the CARB requirements - they are a flat rate, on all vehicles, and do not scale with "too gas-guzzling" and such. It's an either/or and for all items in a given category.
No, it's point of origin. For example, let's say CA wants to "punish" China for its high CO2 output via "import examination taxes" on all electronics products. They have to have the same levy/tax on products from Japan, Germany, and even Texas or Washington. So the net effect is ZERO "punishment" for a specific player (in this example, China) but for all players in a given industry.
LinkedIn is like just about any other social connection group - it will include unwanted and "cold call" contacts. Ignore them. There's quite a bit of good from a site like LinkedIn, especially for consultants - I get a lot of job offers (many more than I can fill) from it, and get to pick and choose. It's a great way to locate consultants or be located.
Problem is - you have to treat all products equally. So you cannot have different inspection fees by origin. Want to hammer China for their high CO2 emissions? You have to also add that "inspection tax" to all products of the same category from all sources - foreign or domestic.
Then you cannot discriminate based upon the origin of the product - which is exactly what the original post in this thread wanted to do:
deally, CA will tax consumed goods/.services based on which nation/state the worst sub-part/service comes from. In doing that, it will reward nations/states that have cleaned up, while punishing those that have not.
You cannot have a State or Country-specific taxation in California, per the US Constitution.
Yep. And since this is putting new antennas on existing poles and towers, it's going to be VERY hard to argue on the grounds of aesthetics. 5G antennas tend to be smaller than 3G antennas, so...
The statute also preempts local decisions premised directly or indirectly on the environmental effects of radio frequency (RF) emissions, assuming that the provider is in compliance with the Commission's RF rules.
In other words, ban what you want - but the FCC will ignore your ban and you have no legal standing as a city/town/State to say "we're worried about RF emissions" and use that as any part of the justification in banning new cell towers/sites.
What do you define as a "smartphone"? Nokia smartphones had browsers, music players, cameras, e-mail, touch screens, WiFi, Bluetooth, and 3rd party programs.
Only if it pokes no fun at people for religious reasons. Or gender. Or racial. Or physical appearance. Or talent. Or nationality. Or dress. Or economic status. Or sports preference. Or dental hygiene. Or car they drive. Or phone preference. Or body piercings. Or tattoos. Or educational background. Or language spoken. Or relationship status.
But political preference is still acceptable. As long as it does not make fun of those on the political left. Or center. Or center left. All others are fine, though!

Senator Harry Reid just shed a tear that you forgot the last time he was Senate Majority Leader - as a Democrat.

Don't think it works that way. States cannot apply discriminatory regulations and taxes on products from different sources.

Consent of Congress. Inspection laws? You mean laws that would be selectively enforced per Country of origin?
Well, we DID have a great place until the previous President yanked funding. Thankfully that's being addressed right now.

Gotta do something to distract from the $100 billion 100 MPH train from Bakersfield to Modesto!
I plan to die like my grandpa, on a road trip across the US, and peacefully in his sleep.
Not screaming in terror like the people in his car.
HEY! Knock it off with the logic and reason, there's a hysterical crowd to whip into a frenzy here!

LOTS of hot water from that super El Nino (largest since 1998), and the temperatures have dropped dramatically since then... Not really a surprise.
Why would you even search for something that you Knew Was Wrong because it doesn't fit in your worldview?
True! AP agrees with Democrats 100% of the time, whilst Pravda only agreed with the Politburo a balanced 97% of the time.

I find the name "Python" to be offensive. It should be renamed to something like "air river" or "cosmic dust".
Here you go.
Explain, then, how I am getting them for my 3+ year old Note 5 as well.
Don't know; don't care.
Then stop lying.
