Isnt there a software development class in high school there??
We have one in Australia (NSW) and they taught us the understanding of programming logic, flow charts, data management and all that, but you were required to teach yourself the langauge of your choice. I myself taught myself PHP for the subject and did pretty well.
Infact i recommend PHP as a language, because its easy, has C similar syntax, you can make simple GUI's with HTML not hundreds of lines of code, theres lots of good documentation on the web and it very closly resembles C.
We had a Major project which we worked on for about a year, and we had to go through the whole structured approch of developing your program, from designs and interviews, flow charts and pseudocode and then to developing a beta doing bug fixes and eventually producing the full project, if your luckly;)
the course ran for a lil under 2 years, so i guess thats just how we do it here.
Although we dont like to admit it, human beings are a virus to planet earth. We suck the resources, multiple then spread and destroy anything in our path.
I know it eats at you everyday, but because you naturally treasure life, you keep telling yourself over and over thats it not true that your not responsible for the damage of earth.. but i dont see you making a difference. Infact i dont think anyone in slashdot really cares enough to stop what we were created to do. Maybe this is how viruses feel aswell. I know myself that ill still be eating tuna.
Sure you say that you brought yourself a hybrid car to cut down on emissions, but your still poluting the earth with your share of eletricty, garbage, the products you buy, the water you use..
infact your PC is made up of 3 times its weight in wasted chemicals.
Its not a shame the earth has to end this way, but it is a shame that we are the cause, and that includes you!
The definition of a taser: Delivers a high-voltage, low-amperage charge that mimics the body's electrical signals, temporarily paralyzing the target from a range of 15-20 feet.
Notice the "temporarily paraliyzing". Im starting to think America doesnt train its police enough, to realise that a taser simply is not used as a means of getting someone to do something. Insted its ment to be used to defend yourself from a target that will cause harm to you, thus paralyzing them for your own safty.There were 5 policemen and one student, i really dont think any of those police were in danger.
So if you say, well why didnt he get up, 'well he couldnt get up because it paraliyzed him'.. Infact, there is a law against using taser for that very reason shown there.
If you say, 'well what if he had a gun, or what if he was selling drugs, then maybe a taser would of been approiate'.. Well what about 'innocent before proven guilty'? They could of checked him for that but they chose to stun him anyways.
And the most rudest reply, 'he deserved what he got'. These people obviously dont understand how powerful a laser is, and i dont blame them cause there mostly dumb americans with no clue about anything. But stunning someone five times to get up is abuse. they could of easily let him walk out, or at worst tackled him, hand cuffed him and escorted him outside.
but then again your right, he did deserved what he got, and that will be a big fat cheque.
Obviously if they have electricity to charge and use the laptops they are gonna have Water.
Most of you people think most 3rd world countries dont have food/water. Well they do, or they would be dead.
You got this image in your head from what they feed you on TV. Donate to X chartiy to save Y kids from dying due to lack of water.
Im not saying that everyone does have access to clean water. But im sure if they have televisions and microwave ovens then they got water.
The next step is to boost these kids education through the use of computers.
If thats the minimum requirements for vista, then whats the recommended..
I ask because the minimum requirements for Windows XP was 233mhz 64meg of ram, and yes i had once had a computer set up with those specs and to be honest Yes it ran, but it ran Bloody Terriable!!
There not worried about pirates.. This is just an excuse so they will close up their source.. Its going to be pirated regardless of it being open source of closed source..
If MAC really wanted to stop pirates then they would mac there OS check to see if its running on MAC hardware..
They have been planning this closed source thing since day 1
I have also heard the Wii software development kit will cost a small $2000
Compare this to the cost of the PS2 SDK at lanch date, $20,000 !!
Also the less pressure to develop high graphics games will make game development cheap as chips.. it takes a team of 200 graphics developers to make those high res textures that ONLY people with High definition TVs can see.. and how much of the population has HD TV's right now?
And if games are going to be realsed on Blue Ray discs, expect them to cost EVEN MORE!

At my school i use the Google proxy, they wont ban it either LoL
Theres two that work, you can translate the page from English to English and it then downloads the page from google.
Or you can use the mobile phone proxy, but that bends everything out of shape.
You can also use IP addresses insted of domain names to access websites!!
Just type google proxy in google for the URLS.
I dont know about you guys, but i happy to live without Microsoft.

I could image Windows Vista to run the same deal.
