No, we're just sick of the ass-backwards logic that the Greens spew. It's not because their agitators, it's because their agitators who scream and whine like children in a toy store whenever their severely faulty logic tells them to, and then they try to use that crapped-out logic by asking the government to regulate society in ways that are unrealistic and intrusive. It's because they scream and complain in every conceivable way about every conceivable thing in an attempt to force society to "adopt" their beliefs and practices (so much for freedom) through a combination of intimidation, harassment, legal harassment, governemnt regulation, and in extreme cases, even terrorism. Yes, the Greens use terrorism. If you think that is an extreme label, then go read about the pipe bombings, fire bombings, and arson that these eco-nutjobs use to try to get free society to do what they want.

"Good Greens", the ones who are civilized and are truly in it for the environment and understand the rights of other people, are very few in number compared to the radicalized individuals who use force and harassment and impede human life and existance through the extreme measures mentioned above. I include politicians in the "Bad Greens" category, since it is almost always clear that they are in it purely for their own self-interests.

Stereotypes don't happen for no reason: The bad image that Greens have is through their own ignorance, hypocrisy, and extremism.

  3. The Blame Game..... on Gamers Grapple With VA Tech Shooting · · Score: 1

Whenever something tragic occurs, he victims, victims' families, and politicians, always look for something to blame.

In the case of the VT shootings, the shooter is dead, so now there is no one to blame. So, inevitably, people look for something that they can take their anger our on: Video games, guns, culture, TV, etc.....anything that can even be remotely violent. Victims are ALWAYS looking to blame their misfortune on something. With VT, the shooter is dead, so now the victims are searching for something else, and now they have hit upon "violent" video games, as the target of their grief, because the individual who committed the shootings is dead. Victims and the rest of society need to understand that just because a tragedy has happened, and the only person who can be truly blamed is dead, that they are wrong to go searching for something similar to blame their hardships on. The perpetrator, Cho, is dead, but blaming things in his place are not even the least bit justified.

Society has a problem with always finding someone or something to blame for every tragedy, or negative event, that happens, rather that coming to terms with the fact that sometimes, the only person who can be held accountable and blamed, is no longer able to be blamed because they are dead. Since they feel the need to blame something, they replace it with something that is still "alive" or available.

I feel sorry for their losses, and am glad the perpetrator punished himself with the only fit penalty for murder, but they are wrong to go out and blame everyday things as the root cause of their tragedy. That asshole butcher, Cho, is dead. Get used to it. He is the only one who can be blamed. Period. Not Spike TV, not gangsta rap (as lame and retarded and it is), not Duke Nukem 3D, or guns, or video games, or the Media.

I'm glad the worthless bastard shot himself. Otherwise, some pussy liberal would say that he is entitled to keep his life, despite having shot to death 32 unarmed and non-threatening students, and that putting him to death would be a violation of his civil rights because it would be cruel. I don't care how smart, intelligent, loved, or generous someone is: If you willfully kill an innocent person, you forfeit all of your rights to your own life.

People like Cho serve as an excellent justification for torture.

I wouldn't be suprised if SCO had a financial motivation for this. SCO needs a cash influx in the same waythe Donner Party needed food.

    $30 "Filing Fee"?

Ever notice how companies say using computers was supposed to make things cheaper and easier for people?

Just like t he credit card companies, Intuit has found a way to turn that cheapness into an expense.

Credit cad companies said that it would be very cheap to use your credit card, but they pass the buck to retailers by charging them exorbitant "Transaction Fees". Banks said the same thing, but charge fees if you use a different bank's ATM. Telephone companies said the same thing, and we all know about the zillions of fees they have. Now Intuit charges $30 dollars to take a file from one person, turn around, and hand it to the Government. If they are going to contract with a taxpayer-funded institution, they should not be allowed to nickel-and-dime the taxpayer like that when they try to pay their taxes.

I'm not big on Big Government, heavy regulation, or stacks of laws, but companies should only be allowed to charge the ACTUAL COST PER TRANSACTION, plus a reasonable convenience fee relative to the actual cost, if they are going to charge a fee. Seeing as how all of this is done electronically, the actual cost Intuit bears is probably more like a couple bucks per transaction.

In the end, TurboTax is just another fancy spreadsheet with alot of bells and whistles..... That charges $30 per use.

The school district that started expelling students (yes that happened) for having MySpace pages is a great example of Administrators' over-stepping of the line between private lives and school, and trying to make a name for themselves.

Your missing the point of the post. I wasn't disputing the facts around global warming, I was disputing the use of Al Gore as a political gadfly. Gore is definitely NOT going to make the situation any better.

Listening to Al Gore babble over and over about global warming, and then seeing him act in complete contradiction to his preachings is what is wrong with the global arming argument. Politicians are already well-known as people who simply talk and say things for media and public attention. Preaching the evils of global warming, and then wasting gas and electricity to power your luxurious mansion is a classic example of the politician stereotype: All talk, no walk.

What I was getting at is that Al Gore's contradictory actions do not give the Anti-Global Warming movement any justice, and take away from it's social credibility by using a hypocrite as it's flag-bearer. I am certain that if scientists who just cared about hard data, facts, and studies and not about political, social, and professional reputations, or publicity, such as the scientists that are published in journals for their SCIENTIFIC, not political, contributions, society would be giving a whole lot more credit to the people who make the arguments. It's gotten to the point where Gore's reputation is so bad (read: politicized) that people are just dismissing the things he says rather than believing them. On the other had, believing something just because it was said by a politician, celebrity, someone you like or someone who's viewpoints you share isn't the way the make an intelligent decision either.

Al Gore is a politician. Plain and simple. He loves media attention, money, power, and luxuries. Just like Republicans. The only thing that makes him any different from a right-wing politician is his party affiliation. Politician are politicians. Period. Classifying politicians is like trying to classify shit: It's nasty, stinks up the place, and nobody likes it. The only difference is who put it there.
. They are NOT SCIENTISTS. This isn't a left-wing, right-wing, red state, blue state, Republican or Democrat thing, it's an image problem. Global Warming is real. The problems with dealing with it are the talking head windbags that go on all the networks preaching about what to do about it. I wish I could see the actual scientists (NOT spokesmen, editors, or "supervisors") that go into the field, plug in the instruments, and collect raw data. That would make me support it a whole hell of alot more than I do now.
