The imac is a nice system but the cost is a little high but that apple but why no mate screen? or ease to get HDD / 2 HDD bays?
but the grade system may just have 1 login that is used by more then 1 person or it's some system that does not have policy's. Also schools some times still use lots of old software.
time for IT jobs to drop the need BS or MS for level 1 jobs what use Calculus on HELP DESK? Desktop support? or IT ADMIN?
and Most CS Educations are poor for IT work anyways trade schools are much better.

start with a 4 day work week makeing full time go to 32-36 hours a week.
that can save alot of fuel and end Saturday mail.
but unlike analog tv there is no box or headend system that can do what you want to make the old stuff work.
Some schools don't even have IT staff or it's tacked on to someone job and is not done full time.

doing it for free is not the same as doing it for cash.
