They should make all boxes rent to own with a cap on how much over there price they can bill you as rent fees. Also only have 1 HD and or DVR fee per house. Also they should let you buy it outright with them being forced to let you port it to other networks. Also they should let you put bigger hd in the with out being locked out for doing that.
The Cable guard, Protection Plans and others cover replacing them at no cost , no rent time reset, and no 2 year re lock in. also mirroring fee / outlet fees / card fees should also be part of that as well.
so prevent the installation of any software may be going a little far and if they purchase the laptops then no software lock down also web filtering on all machines should be at the school internet link not at home.
They should be able to do some stuff how will you do upadates not all stuff works with apple update system. Flash updates need to done by hand and adobe apps have there own system. Office is the same way.
You don't want software raid and the (cheapest) MB sucks way out of data chipset also you don't have to have on board vidoe as it takes up system ram and chip set i/o even if you are useing the system for much.
you will want 2gb or more ram + dual gig-e or more in teaming + some kind of a raid card a good pci-e x4 or better one is about $250+

I wonder how far they will go in the upcoming 24 pinball game and how much will have to taken out when the game is set to adult mode moderate and / or family vs full.
Most of the VP only tables should run and if the systems are not too old then you should be able to get some of vpinmame games working as well others may end up running too slow.
I would think that a nascar game without ad's will be out of place maybe you can have fake ad's / ad's for other games in it but real ad's will fit in other sports are the same way.
but how much cpu time? and firewire should be able to faster with less usb load.
As it will be not just the speed but the cpu time / usb. Didn't PIO Mode 4 end up being slower then Multi-word DMA 0 and the high cpu use killed off pio 5 that showed up in a few bios back the mid 90's.

Do a 64bit test as well as most system today with with 3-4gb ram + video ram and other system stuff go over the 4gb limit 32bit.

apple has more then one way of breaking interoperability.
1. PCI ID locks of video cards that lock out some video cards that will work if you add there pci id to the driver file.
2. Boot loader locks
3. Intel cpu only locks that lock out amd cpus that you the SAME X86-64 code base.
4. Video card bios lock out that make you reflash video cards to work in a mac system.
As they want you to use bit torrent to save on sever bandwidth to download it.
