I was blown away by this as well. I have a 12 inch powerbook about 2 years old with 512MB and never really had major memory issues with running iphoto, safari, and mythfrontend. I got a new mac mini a couple weeks ago with 1GB and noticed paging- mythfrontend took about a minute to start. I bumped up to 2GB and performance improved by an order of magnitude.

Their research on vampires is flawed though. They assume that every time a vampire feeds the human is killed and a new vampire is created. Except in a few cases of recent fiction, most vampires in the western tradition return month after month to the same victim, or do not kill when they feed.

Universities offer degrees in film making, screen writing, music, and a host of others that were probably looked down upon at first. As games become more and more complex, I definitely see the parallels to film degrees. I'm sure if a university offered a degree in film in 1930 its accreditation would have been yanked; The Tisch, the nyu school of film, was only inaugerated in 1965.

I'm sure the degree will be more useful than a BA in Art Therapy, or some other nonsense. (Of course the people drawing pictures with victims of traumatic brain trauma say the same thing about video games. Maybe what we really need is a degree in Video Game Therapy!)
