I don't understand this music thing. They just keep repeating these same twelve notes over and over. Sometimes they will double or halve the frequency, but that's all.
Wrong. So long as they don't stuff it under their bed, they're doing something with it.
Saving can be as effective multiplier as spending it. If they invest in a company, then that company has the money to acquire capital (new machines, new computers) which creates manufacturing jobs, as well as creating jobs from the increased efficency.
If they put it in the bank, the bank now has the additional money to loan to consumers, reducing interest rates.
Now, it can be argued that trickle down doesn't work, but *not* because it isn't being spent. The better argument is that this country finds luxury in imported goods. If one buys imported goods, the money is going out of the country and thus inhibiting the multiplier effect. Supply-side, therefore, only helps in conjunction with protectionism or some sort of competitive advantage bringing money into an economy.
The projection TVs are cheaper and better for the size, even when replacing bulbs is considered. (After all, with American habits that plasma screen is only going to last 8-10 years...)
I have a 2001 prius, and I like it. The primary disadvantage comes if something goes wrong.
Jump it wrong? 10k to fix the damage, at least according to someone at the dealership. (Something went horribly wrong there, the cost of the battery itself is 4000, with prices expected to drop to 1000 according to http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/toyota-prius/m essage/14361)
They will be cost effective, but they aren't just yet. Don't get me wrong, I really like mine and I'd love to have a 2004, but it isn't a choice to be made on economics.
It's already here with the prius (I have a 2001 and regularly get 450 a tank) and the 2004 is going to be more efficent, they say. The civic can do it too.
An individual rents space on a dedicated server someone sets up. He's just looking for somewhere to have his email and a small webpage on the cheap.
Turns out this is in turn on servershost's network (of BurstNET fame) and service goes in and out depending on spammers in the subnet.
how the hell is anyone to research these things? there's no servershost out there with some reseller page. You google and you don't get some big "servershost sucks" page, you've just become another victim of the spam wars.
Yes, I'm bitter. And out of about 40 bucks right now that I've finally decided to cut my losses.
So no, it's not just the spammers that get pissed.
BS + 10 years experience Ph.D + 5 years experience
Ph.D + no work ethic = worthless. (I say this as I post during my lunch break instead of keep chugging through... Oh, the irony.)
My best suggestion is to get the BS, get a job out there (perhaps easier said than done) and if you still want it after 2 years of working, go back. It will enhance your chances of getting into grad school as well.
You're right... but I swear that a year ago, EDS sold a client of the company I work for (I wasn't part of this decision) a dual 667, a few HDs, and 4GB of ram for a quarter million.
I look now and prices are way down. Sun has become a lot more competitive, I guess...
You want to run Oracle with Red Hat, period. (Well, you want Red Hat unless you want to pony up 250k for a sunfire box, or go back to 2003. Saving money is the objective, right?)
However, you can safely run other servers on GPL Red Hat, or Debian, or SuSe, or....
No, I justify it because I'm usually near a computer when listening to music. I am paying the cabal ~4 bucks a month (after Rhapsody makes their money) which is much less than I would give them if I was buying (their) CDs.
I don't even have to use the analog hole. It just happens to be there.
My CD habit is reduced (I have plenty of music) but it's either used or CDBaby. Okay, so that hasn't changed...
As for just downloading MP3s, sure, it would be nice. However, it's not a feature I need, nor is it a feature many people with broadband need.
Find a few tracks of Wilco and Yankee Hotel Foxtrot. Think Brian Wilson if he had been exposed to Johnny Cash.
As for music services, I've been thrilled with Rhapsody. You may not be able to burn to CD without an extra 79 cents per track, but they haven't stopped up the analog hole.
1. then you're further causing problems with your tinnitus if you turn it up. don't do it.
2. It is possible for you to get a normalization filter. It could lose some fidelity, but it would be worth it to your hearing. (the cheap way would be to rip it to wav, normalize in something like cooledit, and reburn.)

(In all seriousness, I've seen things like Ann Coultier's book, etc, around... I've also seen a few textbooks, though never mine.
This was before I had the money to pay for my music)
I think that's what everyone's using these days, anyway...
At the risk of -1, redundant...

Why, then, is it that all the cardiologists seem to smoke?
I haven't seen a LANTastic installation in years.

well... except that the energy required to produce the corn is more than the energy required to mine the fuel.
There's just not enough farmland to feed the nation's energy appetite.
However, I could see it as plausible in farm equipment.
Ford Escape.
Summer 2004.
Good enough?
Emmitt Smith.
I am now authorized by my masters to use PHP.

your excuse is over.
that's nice now... for me.
Now find a way to inform the average consumer.
Or...

so then "move in" with a friend. err... move in with his mailbox.
but the problem is demonstrating this to company lawyers, not a judge.

We moved to BSD for most of our Unix needs.

I learned it a little late myself, and I have reduced hearing and the slightest of the ringing, and only in silence.
That reminds me... I have a concert coming up and I promised myself to get some professional earplugs before that. Thanks!
By reboot, I'm thinking they mean from "press button" until "I can use again."
That means running the program and getting all necessary information from the hardware so that pilots can make decisions from it.
The BIOS is insignificant in this case.
From what I've read, they were intentionally going for the compressed sound. It was an artistic decision rather than a studio decision.
