What's the only adage? "It is hard for the users it's going to at least be that much harder for the hacker"?
Yes, they only need one password to get in, you only need one crack in the armor to deliver a damaging blow... But if you have strong armor around you, you look like a less appealing target as to try to find the one weak scale under your wing. People are more likely to jump on an open WAN then try to break into a hidden one with at least WEP. It sounds more like a lot of what we put in to place is useless once they're in, but that doesn't mean to weaken our defenses.

It's just bad science to use behavioural science and attribute the findings to gender. You could, if you really wanted to stretch it, perhaps apply this to African American Males are more aggressive than their counter parts. We're seeing the Simpson principle at work and as others have pointed out, it may have been due to the games selected. I wonder how many of their male gamers would have been so inclined to addiction if it was "Barbie's Pony Adventure"
My girlfriend is JUST as addicted, if not MORE to the same games as I am. Oblivion and Black and White 2! It becomes a system of trade offs of who's playing what at what time...
It has more to do with the person then the gender! She can wale on me in UT and I make rockin' brownies.
That since eBay was losing the social aspect of the site to mySpace and Facebook that it had in the great long ago. It was going back to the core of it's business and that was to make sellers happy to move more stuff and generate more clicks. If people don't know they're buying from a troll they're more likely to try to buy from them and this would fit with the business of eBay... to make the Seller happy and get ad revenue.
Or am I thinking eBay is just being an evil corporation or no reason?
Why don't you want to switch to DSL? What exactly do you need that DSL doesn't offer?
With cable I have access to an 8Mb pipe, granted, this is not always used for the whole 8Mb connection. But when I need the burst I generally have it. With DSL I'll be much more limited in my through put at the same cost. So, while I realize I'm paying for service I'm not using 5/8th of the time but the other 3/8 I'm very happy to have my extra.
But I really don't when it comes to internet service in my area. DSL just doesn't have what I need and Time Warner is the only solution and I'll be damned if they weren't down this whole weekend with not so much as an explanation or apology. Of course I'm going to be charged for the whole month even after sitting on hold for 20 minutes to be told there's nothing I can do but wait.
This just frosts me even more, I don't WANT to switch to DSL, but I may have to.
I've had experience with the various releases of D&D rule sets over the years. So I say if this one doesn't improve the game in any meaningful way for you, just play with you're favorite rule set or even modify your favorite edition. It is a game of imagination after all.
Isn't the first "rule" in the 3.0 DMG that the rule books are just something for you to use as a starting point and to change them how you want to work in your game?
Who tagged this Pompous... Beat me to the punch. I write code, it's my job. No more, no less. To try to give it esoteric meaning beyond what it is reaches a level of loathing that even I am not going to try to comprehend. It's a job! We may want to make ourselves seem more important based on our position because of the tech around us and being able to tell people "no" but in the end we're just beating the next level of rocks together.
No, but I believe the GP is getting at the fact that Google can be USED like a tracker and because of the cached links they provide those are somewhere on their servers. If that's the case shouldn't they be held to the same standards as the pirate bay?
Just because a gun maker makes a gun for general "sport" doesn't mean it shouldn't be held to gun laws. Even if the laws are for a gun that you know is just for killing someone.
If you're going to block one tracker, you have to block them all yes? What rank is Google? I can type in "insert torrent here" tor and get back a pretty solid list of torrents that way too...
Not really sure it would be a fixation, maybe a kind of envy complex... When you see something and wonder why you don't have it too you develop a complex of envy to obtain it in one way or another... Right Sigmund?
Didn't they also have a show about a father and son who made motorcycles that was heavily edited to made it seem as though there was constant in fighting and that the son did all of the work by himself in this shop to make the bikes?
Not taking anything from the programming, but remember it is on television and they DO need to sell advertising so they might have done something during filming or post production to create the frenzy...

Adventurer 1: I spend my reward on new spells and potions how about you?
Adventurer 2: I spend mine on ale and whores...So you know cure disease?
I don't care the version, you won't lose some of the best "non-battle conversation"

"Intel Doubles Capacity of Likely Flash Successor" this from a site that had a huge Intel logo on it for how many months?
It's neat tech, but as long as flash keeps getting bigger and cheaper we won't see it's 'Successor' for a while.

You sound like my girlfriend talking about poor sexual performance...
OH CHRIST... This seems to happen every week or so...
It's not just you, So do we
The database will be written in MSAccess and kept on someones hard drive until it crashes.
Oddly enough in this case that might of meant something.
Where I am however, I don't think they allow you to take a CCW into the zoo...
