The first thing you do when building a house is make sure its fully insulated and you do not get direct sunlight onto the property if in a hot area. Insulation works for both hot and cold climates and reduces the usage of heating and cooling. A lot of the houses in hot areas do not seem very well insulated.
I never had ghosting or static on my analogue TV. I bought a TV a few years before analogue was switched off so i had access to both analogue and digital channels on the same TV and both were perfect until analogue was switched off. Since the analogue switch off, the digital signal is weak, takes ages to switch to a new channel, loses channels completely, the signal gets destroyed as soon as a helicopter flies over. Obviously time for a new TV.
If you do not give industry targets, they will take the cheapest route to lining their pockets. Your view might work in Utopia, but not in the real world - too many bloodsuckers and ignorant people out there. Engineers can do their best but if it costs the business more, they will be ignored.
"The 41.5 mpg standard would have meant that ICE cars would increase in price dramatically while plunging in performance metrics, and also in crash survivability as structure is sacrificed for reductions in vehicle weight to increase mpg."
Increased fuel economy is better "performance" and you can get modern smaller more economical engine cars going faster than older larger engine cars. Modern cars are also a lot better at protecting the passenger than older cars ever were. Check the video on this head-on between a 1959 Bel Air and a 2009 Mailbu http://www.core77.com/posts/23...
If people were prepared to pay the real price of goods made by a well paid indigenous population then the need for immigration will lessen. its people at the till that businesses listen to, so if you are will to pay more, let the businesses know.
Yes it does need to grow because you will eventually get a smaller and smaller working population and then less tax revenues and your economy shrinks etc etc
this is just one part of it part of a bigger plan, The main reason for the ban on public transport is to stop the kids pestering for these foods when they are out and about. Apparently its was done in Amsterdam (also as part of a grander plan) and its been working.
"I mean, in this day in age....does not pretty much everyone not already know that pre-processed junk food is bad for you? That overeating processed carbs and SUGAR will cause obesity?"
"Is it that somehow, the general public is now so fucking stupid they don't know this, and that these subway ads sway their behavior in such an unavoidable fashion that they must be protected from ads?" - its because ads work best on kids and a lot of parents are crap and can;t say "no".
"You can drain gasoline or diesel into a metal tank" - providing there are no holes from accident damage (or rust in an old vehicle) in the tanks to be drained or you'll be standing in that flammable liquid
They can legislate to stop the pollution from cars etc which this basically is all about. In reality is just a target for the industry to aspire to, if you don't set the target you'll get complacency from the industry.

You must have been looking in the mirror when you posted that.
No, just the people born in that country.

you sound bitter towards women, whats caused the problem?
extreme left and extreme right are both sides of the same coin and both not needed
For that to work, you'd have shoot all the people that only want to increase their wealth by expansion of the economy.
Yes it does need to grow because you will eventually get a smaller and smaller working population and then less tax revenues and your economy shrinks etc etc
look it up then you'll find out what it is and how it works, it'll cure your ignorance.
Have a look at micro-grids, you might find that interesting in hooking up local solar/wind into a microgrid
wow.. just how out of date are you? pssst. its the 21st century not the 19th.
Gas powered turbines or hydro cannot respond as fast as a battery. Grids love battery.
thats the first time i've heard Benjamin Franklins phrase called a 15 year old buzzword.
