Everybody here has been hyping about how lawsuits are going to become a revenue stream for cooperations. Welcome to 2007, where any lawsuit, as long as your wallet is deep enough, is funding. Could this be the year when we see patent reform? I really hope so, but my gut feeling tells me that it's not gonna happen, America. Too bad, so sad. If I want to move to somewhere that has sane laws, does anyone have any suggestions?
Whats with all the "killers" these days? I mean, first it was iPod killers, and now we have one of many Youtube killers. DRM+MOVIES+"exclusive content"=Crap All these companies finally agreeing on something, and it has to be a ripoff of another company. The again, ripping people off is what they do best.
Really? The Fresno County library system is testing these in several of our locations. As you said, it does not have the title or the ISBN. Patrons have shown great delight in being able to check their own books out, and it allows us volunteers to manage all the books much more easily. I am not sure about the price, but every book we have is tagged, and new books are tagged before they reach the shelves.
Let's see... Youtube is a "web 2.0" site. Teenagers being able to post anything and everything generally leads to illegal activity sooner or later. Expect to see many cases like this in the future. On a positive note, at least Google is being nice and doing the right thing. A large company doing the right thing? Up until now, only in dreams and legends. Nice way to set a positive example Google. OTOH, any guesses on how much the big G's finances are going to drop?
...Must... Finish... Finnished... Game! (who must recently finished wacky Xbox title Stubbs The Zombie) Can the Slashdot editors ever learn how to edit? Story at eleven!
People are just waiting for the newer consoles. I know that I have purchased far less games each month to save my "game cash" for the next gen console that is Wii. Wow contributes to the lower console game sales, but is not the PRIMARY cause of it.
"1. detect the signal pattern for pain and cancel it out"
One problem: Pain is your body's deterant against death. What happens if you are dying, but, thanks to your handy dandy microchip, don't know it? Without pain, we could die any second and not know it.
Just imagine what would happen if America Online got their hands on this.
-You've got commercals-
On a more serious side, what would replace the crappy free aol cd's? Free tivo-style boxes?
Congrats!
You got it!
They are tying to hide the fact that you are paying an extra 30 cents to not have your fair use rights trampled on!
RTFA
They did patent it!

Why is it that people FOR the new look get modded interesting or insightful, but the ones against it get modded off-topic?
Just a thought.
