Except in this day of news aggregators you don't need to rely on one source for all news. You see a tidbit or summary about an interesting science related story you click through to the science news site to rtfa. Same goes for political, economical, humorous, etc. Only old fools subscribe to a single newspaper for all their info.
The summary suggests the pardon is for all 49,000 convictions Turing is singoed out here because this is Slashdot. An arts news site would have singled out Wilde.
Small arms keeping everyone armed is still a good fighting force even without drones and missiles. While the second amendment only applies to personal weapons and not artillery or ordinance the US govt is unlikely to launch cruise missiles into its own infrastructure to put down rebellion. In a true civil war the military itself will divide and both sides will have access to military hardware.
Anywhere in the city nice enough to live isnt worth the expense. I have a five bedroom house, acre of land and four car garage in central NJ cheaper and my taxes are ~500 month. Renting the rooms out to friends my home expenses zero out. An apartment in NYC when I make 30k/year seems impossible.
I think the armies are the biggest improvement by far from iv to v. No longer stacking units allows you to actually place your units in strategic locations (spearmen defending archers, etc).
Now if only they would split building and recruitment so you can do both simultaneously.
Travel by train is expensive too. I did Atlanta to DC once and regretted it. Flying would have not been any more expensive, and now with airlines like Frontier you can fly for less than $100.
We have a lot of the railroad turned bike paths here in NJ, I am more of a mountain biker but anything that can keep cyclists off the road is welcome to me as a driver for sure.
That wasn't my intent. I simply meant there is no interest in this country to upgrading or maintaining a rail infrastructure, the bike paths are better than leaving rusting steel on the ground but I would prefer a better rail system for passengers and freight use. Every major highway should have a rail parallel to it.
The US rail infrastructure could not remotely handle the amount of cargo that has to move. We are dependent on big trucks for cross country shipping because of it. Getting a country like nicaragua to approve the canal is orders of magnitude easier than convincing every local govt in the US to let you run new rails through it (on the east coast lots of rail lines are being torn up for bike paths)

I am guessing they are generally physically fit with short cut hair.

We have been to Mars a number of times now. It is time to land on Europa
In an astronomical scale Mars is hardly 'distant'

All Sweden has to do is guarantee asylum in the case of a US attempt at extradiction over wikileaks.
Different countries have different rules.

I think this would upset me more if our govt was actually being responsible with the massive budget it already has.
Pretty certain they enjoy empty soda cans, which are never found near computer desks right?
Only if by seized control you mean 'legally elected' and by destroy you mean 'withdraw'
It is a good way to get disbarred and sued again.
