.well that GPS is great for getting me out on my bicycle, and off into unexplored territories. I just love it. Except when it dies because it sucks too much juice, which is most of the time. (so I have learned to carry spares)
I love it too. But I just have Dell X5 palmtop, and 3400mAh battery, it works approximately 6-7 hours this way.

t might make a decent desktop system but it's one of the most closed and expensive systems you can use.
Maybe this is the reason? Like "Look, I can afford a mac, and it looks shiny and I'm all cool and hip". (I can almost hear the scream of my burning karma for this).
Yet. If computers are sold like cellphones, it will be only because there will be some service (like internet access, it's already happening in Europe, see posts above).
Couldn't they employ some powerfull UV lamps? Like 2kw of lamps in their tank of water? It would certainly kill everything, and 2kw is almost nothing for such a datacenter.
How long will it be before my computer heats my house while I browse the internet? When does the first combined datacenter and heating cogeneration system get installed?
Actually coat hook from Wal-Mart would be cheaper. But those printers are suitable where you need a coat hanger for very peculiar coat for example. This is for nonstandard things. So you can have millions of coat hangers for $1 (or sometimes for free), or 1 custom coat hanger for $5 with reprap (or $5000 for custom molds with injection molding).
There are lots of other benefits of doing this, from law enforcement (in a non-Orwellian way) automation, to the relaxation of the executive branch
And when all your personal details are available to anyone, anyone can steal your identity. Or if you make something unharmful, but seen in society as bad (not wearing burka for example) there can be something like mob justice but with half of some country angry.
Plus maybe no explosion in the event of sudden superconductivity lost (in the event of temperature jump, for example). I think complimentary copper wires are already used in some superconducting magnets allowing to bypass locally hot superconductors.
It was aimed at "funny". I didn't try it because I don't typically use windows (only at work). I've tried some weather reports, but none have yet worked form me (Poland, small city) and it is impossible to find traffic information here (Poland, small city), not that it would be really useful (Poland, small city). Otherwise, I agree with you.
How much search bars and adboxes do one need on a desktop?

With current technology I can very easily move some 20-30gb in my stomach (2gb microsd cards in some small pill-like protective case). But download is then a little shitty...
nvidia drivers, flash player, mp3 support, the like. maybe 8.10 will be better
Yeah, on xp you have those just after installation too... I'm using Ubuntu 8.04 x64 now and don't have any problems. (nvidia gf6800, flash player and mp3 support is here too).
If this is home router, then DMZ(DeMilitarized Zone) means that ALL ports of one computer are exposed to internet. Like - if port is not already used by some other computer in network, and there is inbound connection to some port on router from internet, route this port to DMZ computer. You are on the other hand probably talking about more professional DMZ, when some computers are allowed to get some connections from internet (single ports) and are not allowed to connect to local network, but LAN computers can access internet just like with regular firewall.
It would be actually cool if some dynamo with charging capabilities existed. Just like cross between bicycle dynamo and sidewinder phone charger.

Not anymore, the site is slashdotted, you insensitive clods! Think of all the (computer generated) children!

And this is the way "hacker" word lost its meaning.

Just two posts down from http://hardware.slashdot.org/comments.pl?sid=573849&cid=23655427, congratulations!!

Or charming :D
Aren't you by any chance a cat?

Yeah, just like they came after those "debians" folks. So better watch out!
On a side note, you can say nothing is secure. It's just matter of what you define as secure. Most linux and macs are secure enough.
Yeah, with those jerky motions (see in video, assuming final version will be covered with skin and look like normal hand) no one would stare...
So maybe it would make more sense to just skip their insurance?
