    Then explain Microsoft and Windows!
    Actually windows was the fittest. Not the most stable maybe, but it was easiest to get and easiest to use. Also had best support and multimedia.

    Most of the time it's actually positive, studies have shown fish love the warmer water.
    I beg to differ, if water is hotter, there will be less oxygen. At around 90F it is already starting to get too hot for fish.

    Two huge providers doesn't automatically mean competition. This competition thing is like force. If it's not working, you have to use more.

    and they take a hefty chunk of change for the privilege.
    Actually about $250. Joanna Rutkowska has managed to sign her own driver intended to punch a hole in vista, registered as microsoft partner and obtained the certificate.

    Or if, say, the driver's authors somehow competes with MS.
    She clearly competed with them in security business ;)

    Wouldn't water in your body slowly boil out? Lower pressure lowers water boiling point. Cell membranes would keep it for a while, but eventually if it has +273K, in vacuum it would boil.

    On a mature or stressed market that only will mean that you won't get work neither on A, B nor C because those job positions will go for "real niche expert on A", "real niche expert on B" and "real niche expert on C", repectively.
    I would call it still market. If there is no job opportunities for newcomers, this one market is dying.

    ...Proper disaster recovery is far too complex for any package to do it without problems.

    My other favorites were Bacula and BackupPC, both of which have some killer features, but are utterly lacking in the user friendly department...
    I think those two may be related somehow.

    I have a4tech x-750f (with switchable resolution 600-1600 dpi) and I have enough room on a5 sheet with my 1680x1050 monitor. I could just upgrade to a4 for 2 monitors. I've seen some trackballs, how do you do drag and drop with them? Isn't it a little more complicated/unconvenient?

    In Poland many cars are modified to run on LPG. Gasoline costs here about $1.5 and LPG only half of it. Plus you can drive on gasoline when gas ends.

    Microsoft could easily become a huge positive contributor to the FOSS world. Does nobody want that?
    A bank robber could easily become bank assistant. Does anybody want that?

    We WOULD like Microsoft to become not evil, but after all those experiences of trying to be good and then spoiling everything, we (slashdot crowd) are just careful with such moves.

    I don't know everything about schedulers either. But I DON'T wait for others to explain it to me. I didn't even knew staircase-deadline scheduler exists. There are many information sources out there in vast internet, just use it more often.

    Firstly, if you're using a CRT all day with a white background, then you have an electron beam lighting up phosphors and thus beaming light straight at your eyes all the time you're looking at it.
    Ahhh, it's the light! I'm melting!!

    But seriously, light is not that bad when you get used to it. Try going out sometimes, there is even a big lightbulb in that high blue ceiling ;)

    Yeah, you just have this big 4:3 rectangle burned into your eyes after reading.

    No. When whole screen is bright, pupils will shrink and limit light to a comfortable level. When screen is black and all your surroundings are dark, those white letters will burn your eyes in some spots.
