Also, one tends to get tired of having the same discussion for *years*. there just comes a point where it is just easier and takes lots less time to just say "Signal 11 is an idiot"
Somebody please correct me if i am wrong, but i was under the impression that a statute of limitations only meant that you couldn't prosecute someone after the statute of limitations has expired. (of course the mandatory IANAL)
What we need to establish time/date/author/... is a central authority that can keep track of all of that stuff for us. and then we can be assured of the authenticity of any email we send.:)
...that a majority of the posts here don't directly address his question? Most posts have instead fallen back to the security/uptime argument, which is *very* important but he specifically asked about performance issues.
Hey, at least the time interval here between their telling us and the actual event is a little better. this is almost 8 hours notice. maybe next time it will be a full day, and the next time a few days, and before you know it we might actually get a weeks notice before an event.:)
I don't know if it is just (male) geeks who are using computers to find pr0n, i think it has probably made the jump into the (male) population at large.
The Andromedia Strain started out killing people (hence the reason that Crichton got a whole book out of it). Only later did the bacteria/virus (i don't remember which) mutate to eat rubber. So, maybe the fungus from MIR will mutate from something that eats rubber/other materials to something that kills *everybody*.
Right, emusic.com is legal. But, it does offer a subscription option (eg. download as many of our mp3s in a month as you want for $20 or less) in addition to being able to pay on a per track basis. esentially this seems to be the model for what some people here are advicating, they just don't have all the songs that napster has.
But Google is cached. at least all of the links they return you for your search. the biggest remaining problem is trying to fit all of that onto each plane...
When i got my hp 48G (7-8 years ago) i spent many hours of class playing the built in mine sweeper. if they want to put an mp3 player in something that i could have convinced my parents that i needed, i'm all for that.
My intellimouse explorer (5 button optical, one big button on the left side of the mouse, one on the right) is symetric lengthwise, so it will work the same for righties or lefties...
so, what hapens if there is a redneck female geek? do they have to watch shows like "GI Jane"?
maybe you meant "it's by far more efficient to criple analyze the person instead...
:-)
"(who can and frequently restrict access to information you does need)"
uhhhh, misplaced cursor problem? i think he meant
(who can and frequently does restrict access to information you need)
and then if they waited, we could complain that this is old news! a win-win situation, we get to bitch and moan no matter what the editors do.
Ummmmm, you ask 1010011010 to back up his comments, but then provide no backup to your own?
forgive me if i just don't understand.

Yes but many corporations are not yet using Win2k. It will take *years* before 2k replaces NT4 in most of corporate america and elsewhere.
"I will make a sizeable contribution to The Human Fund in the name of everyone who establishes or points to a mirror :)"

Hey look, there's a mirror over there!

just my 2 cents

So, how long will it be before someone starts teaching this thing four letter words?

How 'bout a +1 WTF?
emusic.com offers a (kind of) similar service here.

Yeah, but trying to put the keys back in the same place is always fun.
or, putting them back in different places is always fun too =)
yes, but sometimes it takes *all* of the calculus functionality of my hp 48G to balance my checkbook.

But when can i get one that will go well with my carpet and my drapes?
I would agree with the previous poster, i have had one of M$ft optical mice and haven't had any problems with it.
