    Politician DOES = Evil
    End of story

The system is designed to remove honesty and integrity from its participants. If you hold on to those things you do not advance in politics because you don't get private money to fund a competetive campaign.

The solution is to eliminate politicians and start electing LEADERS - HOW? By removing private money from compaigns - make it illegal and do the same for ALL political telivision ads.

No private funding and no attack ads on TV, just - for once - an open discussion on the issues at hand and how to move forward for the common good. What a CRAZY idea: The candidates can get off their asses and walk around town and TALK TO PEOPLE instead of pounding attack ad propaganda into my god damned face.

Just imagine it for a second. It IS coming. We will take the power back and Bush, Cheney, all the rest of them will shiver and weep in some dark corner while it all comes crashing down.

I find myself asking this a lot lately...

It seems like every 2 weeks there is some huge "DISCOVERY" about the brain and its always crappy, like "oh, we figured out that this part of the brain has to do with X"...WHO CARES? They can't tell me a damned thing about how the brain REALLY works or what the real implications of any of these discoveries are - its always "we'll have to study this in more detail to figure out how to apply any of it." Oh, so you're saying you learned nothing then? Yes. Its like this whole scientific community has been grasping at straws for the last 20 years.

    Dear Science,

Figure something out before you throw more "DISCOVERIES!!!" at us.

When al qaeda attacks again, the government will not be there to stop them. Rest assured of it. Thats what you get when every single aspect of homeland security is underfunded and over-marketed. And guess who will be there to rebuild when buildings or planes fall again? All of Bush/Cheney's best friends will get more contracts to clean up the messes their white house conveniently chose not to protect against.

Harmony with nature means living with the cards that its dealing us. We do have to harmonize for spiritual reasons in our daily lives. By creating a healthier nature around us we inevitably cleanse our inner selves of spiritual/mental pollution.

    Now, having said that....
Nature develops its own balance absolutely, uncompromisingly and doesn't fret about nuclear wars or pollution. We could launch all the nukes, stuff way too much CO2 into the air, or develop some genetic supervirus that kills everything...It really wouldn't matter at the planetary level because as long as there is a sun and some water here the earth will restabilize and regenerate the same incredible diversity of life that we snuffed out. The problem with many of these arguments is that they assume our humam race is the be-all, end-all goal of evolution. Personally I find a bat's sonar capability far more impressive than this bulky brain that just makes me overanalyze everything around me.

Going out and colonizing space MIGHT, MAYBE be appropriate somewhere down the road after we have proven that we can live sustainably on THIS planet without completely destroying the current ecosystem or ourselves. Actually we should pretty much stop worrying about space travel until meeting the basic food/medicine needs of every human being. Do we really want to bring all the suffering out into space with us? What are we accomplishing then? We need to get our priorities straight...
