you try that again using gimp or photoshop WITHOUT knowing exactly where to look. Trust me, there are GUI's out there that are just as unintuitive. I really didn't see what was so hard about GIT but, i didn't start using it untill I heard Linus's talk on it. (they were on version 2)

this has always been a valid point. If only the ipad wasn't so helpless without another computer to ... be a base to it. Netbooks were desktop replacements in that they really could do what ever you wanted if you asked them to. Even the Mac Book Air is a netbook. If I could get a netbook running android or a decent tablet OS. Ubuntu and KDE netbook remixes are quite nice. This Nokia netbook could have been running Maemo or MeeGo or KDE if they were smart.

Honestly I think netbooks killed themselves by failing to see their own selling point, then trying to compeat on the wrong selling point.

Almost, I don't think they failed to see their selling point, it just wasn't in the interest of the manufacturers. I remember stories of Microsoft telling manufacturers to raise the price of them to compete with the linux netbooks (like that makes sense). The race to the bottom didn't go so well.

For home desktop use, you should really be be upgrading your storage solution at around 80% full. You should also be using a SSD for the drive your OS is installed on.

    emphasis mine,
should? really we should? is it really that much faster or shouldn't I wait until I have enough money to afford one thats big enough. are you suggesting that I mount /sbin/ and /usr/sbin and /boot on the ssd? Honestly do distros have any order of where they put the GUI programs? some put them in /usr/local/bin.

honestly, I prefer dual analog sticks to a trigger because my thumb is more dexterous than my pointer at that angle. I was use to controlling strafing with my pointers on the shoulders of the controller.
