you try that again using gimp or photoshop WITHOUT knowing exactly where to look. Trust me, there are GUI's out there that are just as unintuitive. I really didn't see what was so hard about GIT but, i didn't start using it untill I heard Linus's talk on it. (they were on version 2)
YES! and THANK YOU! I dont know what this guy is smoking but if learning the CLI is hard, i don't know how they got through CS. Perhaps they have an MIS degree;-) Once i read a decent analog: cli is to GUI what gesture based interfaces are to... GUI. The advantage is the speedup you get from muscle memory.
this has always been a valid point. If only the ipad wasn't so helpless without another computer to... be a base to it. Netbooks were desktop replacements in that they really could do what ever you wanted if you asked them to. Even the Mac Book Air is a netbook. If I could get a netbook running android or a decent tablet OS. Ubuntu and KDE netbook remixes are quite nice. This Nokia netbook could have been running Maemo or MeeGo or KDE if they were smart.
Honestly I think netbooks killed themselves by failing to see their own selling point, then trying to compeat on the wrong selling point.
Almost, I don't think they failed to see their selling point, it just wasn't in the interest of the manufacturers. I remember stories of Microsoft telling manufacturers to raise the price of them to compete with the linux netbooks (like that makes sense). The race to the bottom didn't go so well.
from the article, a growing body of evidence suggests that non-ionizing electromagnetic radiation in the frequency range of mobile cell phones may cause non-thermal biologic effects. Many of these non-thermal biologic effects "might be relevant for human health," the study notes
and then there's this

and finally, chill that kind of language is un-called for
For home desktop use, you should really be be upgrading your storage solution at around 80% full. You should also be using a SSD for the drive your OS is installed on.
emphasis mine,
should? really we should? is it really that much faster or shouldn't I wait until I have enough money to afford one thats big enough. are you suggesting that I mount/sbin/ and/usr/sbin and/boot on the ssd?
Honestly do distros have any order of where they put the GUI programs? some put them in/usr/local/bin.
I keep forgetting that he did alias. dam he's good. I just couldn't watch LOST past the fist episode, nor did I have any inclination to attempt to watch it ever.
Shared axis? you mean having steering and acceleration on the same stick? I mean one stick for steering and the other for acceleration. Otherwise, i think you're right about analog buttons being better for this. I might have put brake on a trigger to compensate for this in my dual analog setup.
honestly, I prefer dual analog sticks to a trigger because my thumb is more dexterous than my pointer at that angle. Think about it, one is a rotational motion across multiple muscles and the other is a hinging motion on one joint. I was thrown off in halo by my experience with Bond. I was use to controlling strafing with my pointers on the shoulders of the controller.
that too

you forgot that emacs is on mac os also. that includes xemacs (mac os has an x server also) and aquamacs

its open source, Patches accepted.
I like it better when it was bigger than anything else up there.
sounds like an anime plot arch. everything up to ep13 is setting, then the shit hits the fan ... and gets real. (that is, if its a good anime)

It's slashdot idle, thats the point.
you mean a conclusion based on observations has not yet been contradicted? say it isn't so!
