    well,there is a LOT of computing power on that shader units,much more than on a intel cpu for example

    but using it is the main problem,as they cant quite execute x86 code

    so how about using a specializated Dynamic recompilation cpu that do all the conversion/branch prediction/out of order execution/loop unrolling work by software,but with a highly specialized opcode set to do the job instead of a generic cpu?

    even if you lose half of the raw power of the units,you will still have much more processing power than the current cpus on the market

    inst core 2 duo doing like 24-36 billion of instructions per second?

    (4-6 instructions per cycle *2 * 3 ghz)

    i think he should speak about gigaflops or something where that really shows the cpu power,because 5 billion of instructions per second is not exactly impressive alone

    i mean,even a single core 3 ghz pentium 4 cpu can do around 9 billion of instructions per second

    winning against a format in the same situation but with less support is easy.

    Winning against a format that basically everyone uses on the entire world,have sub 100 dollars players and that for most people offer EXACTLY the same thing as bluray if not more ,well this is a much difficult if not impossible battle.

    at least for other spinning plastic disk.

    i was reading about it,and its said on the web that it can decode like 20 gb/s of raw data on RSA thing.
    can it be used to break in encrypted data too?
    like.. imagine a gigantic 100.000 Via C7 cluster hidden somewhere in china,chewing on stolen network packets of a bank or something like that.

    er... the cows are on south of brazil,not north

    most rainforest damage is to sell the rare kinds of wood that you can find there,but you probably can "grow" any kind of wood by using that artificial creatures that way too.

    basically the idea is a program that scans the MP3 or rom or pirate CD/DVD,the value of it,and then sends the info to a site,that gives you a way to pay for the file and when payed,gives you a eletronic license that have a unique ID and etc basically a software that allows you to download something from a illegal place,legalize it,and only pay for the license,instead of paying for the media/taxes and etc

    but at least use the damn thing right i mean,game cube was horribly limitated by the ram and could not even use half of its triangle pushing power,because if you used more than 200.000 triangles per scene (counting the index/vertex stuff of course),you would eat too much ram and make the game look like a N64 stuff in texturing level now wii have that 88 mb of ram,that allow it to have a 1 million of triangles scene easily now do something really low poly for the Wii its just plain stupid,you re not saving much ram,the Wii will chew on the higher polycount the same way and it just will make it look uglier
