Using electrolysis to split water isn't difficult at all. Children can do this. Electricity can be supplied by a nuclear fuels and devices brought to the asterioid. If it is close enough to a star, photovoltaic or other "solar" energy collection devices may be used. This can power and heat the electrolysis plant. "Gravity" can be generated by accelerations such as angular momentum (just make a carousel to hold the electrolysis cells).
Hey, NASA, Where's my $40 million? (I am sure NASA will waste billions of dollars on this this. I just want my cut.)
The posting states that: "It's the latest way for Hollywood to combat falling DVD sales due to piracy."
Just how many 500GB HDD do they expect people to buy. I usually buy many more DVDs than HDDs any given year. Not to mention, when you buy a HDD, do you look for price, performance, or the included movie?
@BItZtream Perhaps it is YOU who should understand what "monopoly" actually means.
The OED defines monopoly as: "The exclusive possession or control of the trade in a commodity, product, or service; the condition of having no competitor in one's trade or business."
Since Apple (and only Apple) does restrict what applications can or cannot be installed on an iPhone or iPad, they have a defacto monopoly on these platforms. How would you explain that Apple doesn't have exclusive possession or control of this?
Jailbreaking (and the ensuing vioding of one's warranty) does not get around this exclusivity!
@ BitZtream You are a stupid ignorant jackass! At least I know what I am talking about.
The article mentions that the organism takes up leucine, and amino acid that does indeed contain oxygen. The orgamism lives in brine (you know---salty water). All water contains oxygen. (Ever hear of H2O? It's water---and is is composed of one oxygen atom per two hydrogen atoms.)
Now, if someone had discovered an organism on earth that doesn't use oxygen in some part of their respiration, DNA, RNA, and amino acids, maybe, just maybe, that would justify your dumb-ass existance.
Just to be clear, I do mean organism. Prions and the like are not necessarily organisms.
"Computer Science" is not a science. Therefore, applied "Computer Science" cannot be Engineering. Therefore, "Software Engineering" cannot be Engineering.
I mean, honestly, what's next? Mathematical Engineers?
I just don't know why people aren't boycotting Apple.
If only they had a pseudocode compiler!
This could get interesting!

How sad is it when this right-wing nutcase is legitimately questioning Michael Mann's work?
We all deserve better than this!
This is not just politics, it's our planet. Let's get the research done accurately and without bias!
Let's not waste billions of dollars on meaningless theories. There are so many other things that could use the wasted money.
I have to agree that this is not breaking news, but it is good to let people know that Octave has this functionality.
After they realize it's not all fun and playing video games all day as "research", how many will flock away?
Glad to see that the US military needs to outsource to foreign think think tanks. It speaks volumes.
Powerpoint isn't the problem, it's large organization management and people who don't want to (or don't have the time) to get into the details..
This is the nature of "summing-up" and presenting to people that do not understand what is being spoon-fed to them.
If they let him try to land it, I'm sure he will break it.
Just dig up the privy.
Here's Ben Franklin's:

Of course, once it goes on the curb, it's up for grabs.

I would think that hurricane damage, flood potential, etc. would be a problem.
I think it's a no brainer. Support Adobe.
Then, maybe, someone will attack Adobe about their platform.
When that happens, support them.
Remember...the enemy of your enemy is your friend.

Oops! wrong thread.
Get it?

From the article:

Well, that is what sound is.

I am certain that these organisms contain oxygen in some of their molecules, like DNA, RNA, amino acids, etc.
Perhaps these organisms do not consume oxygen in respiration?
This sounds like the Montessori Method.

Canadians must understand this. Americans don't.
