    They wouldn't be paying anyway. If they really wanted to play without paying for a subscription, they would be on a private server running an up to date version of the game.

    While the technology will probably eventually arrive, CGI actors won't replace real ones. The general public wants a connection with famous actors. They want social media, interviews, gossip, embarrassing photos, photos from charity events, visits to hospitals, etc. On screen performance is only one part of being a famous movie star.

    Couple years back I had a friend with a cellphone from Sprint, I think it was. Anyway, though he had a data plan, apparently they wanted him to pay extra for GPS. Let that one sink in.

    I'm in favor of this. Anyone working any service industry job is under constant surveillance while on the clock, so it's not as if the idea is inherently abhorrent.

    If the police aren't doing anything wrong, they shouldn't have anything to hide. Right?

  20. They'll help me reclaim the hours I spend every day in traffic. Safety and speed will be nice, but those won't be significant until most of the cars on the road are autonomous. Until then, I'll be more than happy with the extra time to sleep, read, write, watch TV, play games, and so on.

    We can't even, after decades of trying, create an 'artificial intelligence' that can pass the Turing Test, and that's just text on a screen. What makes any of you so sure that 'autonomous cars' were ever so close to being a reality?

    Because those are two wildly different problems?

    People keep bringing up this argument, but why would the AI be piloting the car at breakneck speed toward a crowd of people in the first place?

  24. When you're poor. When you don't have $400. Not like you have $400 in savings that you shouldn't touch, when you literally do not and can not get together $400. You just soldier on and try to survive without health care because you literally can not afford it. You postpone it because there is no other option.
