    Also timing does not work all that well with USB/BT serial ports.

    Serial ports are a simple and easy way to move data to an embedded system and they can run of very low power systems (unlike USB).

    It is much easier to manage 1 device than to have:

    1. Modem.
    2. router.
    3. Switch.
    4. AP.
    5. Network Print Server.

    You my friend do not have any relatives that need to be connected to The Internet.

    With Ubuntu, most issues can be resolved via ssh.... And I have not had any issues at all.

    Skype, works.
    Firefox and Opera, work.
    Flash, works.

    Viruses and Malware, does not work.

    It is more of comparing Tape with a USB flash disk.... Tested vs. Easy to Use. Guess which one is used for critical backups.

    SSD's are cheap.

    1. mount / on SSD. In most cases you would not need more than 5GB
    2. mount /home on HDD.

    problem solved.

    I know a location in Lviv Ukraine with pre-WWII wiring which gets 24/1 ADSL2+, granted is under 1KM from the exchange.

    I get full ADSL2+ goodness with my 60 or 70's wiring.

    I cannot understand how "Palo Alto, California. Silicon Valley, USA." does not have a better connection...

    Also the building I am living in is covered by 3 other ISP's that provide Cable Internet via fiber.

    Not as easy as you think.

    1. Make sure you copy the HDD with something like DD so that you have multiple copies.
    2. Use google: http://www.google.com/search?client=opera&rls=en&hl=en&q=convert+xp+to+vm&sourceid=opera&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8

    Note, there is a good chance that it might not work 100%... but worth a try.

    -Lower Temps.
    -Lower Noise.
    -Lower power users, hence longer battery life.
    -Lighter.
    -Faster bootup. If you are paying 60 USD/hour or 1 USD/min, and saving 1 min every reboot or startup. You will make up the difference in 1 year or so.

    You would have to look at what people throw away, in poorer countries people tend not to throw away reusable items like plastic bags and glass containers. And also less food is thrown away.

    You are missing a big point. If they add this tech, then their saws will useless in damp, highly humid, or RF polluted environments. Do you think the guy who has an el-cheapo model or even a contractor with a top of the line model will be happy replacing a saw every time something wet hit the blade or some static builds up.... From the explanation I would assume that this would be triggered by a drop of sweat or a sneeze or RF polution.

    The manufacturers are not adding this tech because they want their saws to be dangerous, they are not adding this because it would cripple their saws.

    As most people said, a person should know that the a freaking blade and especially a blade spinning as fast as a table saw blade is dangerous and is not a toy.
