My ISP offers an SLA with a commercial contract. Of course the price is double that of residential plans.
I've also went to them about complaints of low speeds and was told, "Well, you must have spyware, then." They pretty much ignore residential complaints.
My personal opinion is.. they charge me a premium to use the service, so it should be ad-free on their end. When they want to give me the service for free, I'll take the advertising.
Try about $3000 bucks for the low-end $499 system Dell offers. It's a shame that people don't realize that if they save the weekly payments for 3 months they could buy direct from Dell the same thing they're paying $40/week for 2 years for.
Case isn't closed, no. According to your scenario, disabled folks would still have to plunk down a considerable sum of cash for MS Word (or other MS Office product), so where is their incentive to use ODF/OpenOffice?
Why not just give Dick Cheney a gun in each hand at a lawyer convention while letting quail fly around the room?
