When a patent gets invalidated, the USPTO should be forced to return the fees.
Then it won't take long before they finally learn how to do their work properly.
I tried FF4, but quickly upgraded to FF3.
I tried FF5, but quickly upgraded to FF3 again.
Since, imho, the user interface of FF3 is superior to its successors, I consider going back to version 3.6 an upgrade!
I've got no plans to try FF6+ at all, until I read some good reviews convincing me the UI will indeed be an improvement wrt FF3 instead of a worsening like FF4 and FF5.
Some time ago I already noticed that Google Groups has implemented a bot detection based on behaviour.
However, often when I browse through a google group in an efficient way, google thinks I'm a bot and blocks me for quite a while.
The only way around is to work inefficiently on purpose, by making my clicks as rondom as possible with as random as possible time intervals. This costs me at least five times as much time as it would cost me the efficient way.
This is very annoying, so I think it would be better for them to ditch the behaviour detection and just rely on properly designed captcha's.
Will a possible black hole sink to earth's CoG ?

I was wondering....
Suppose, a tiny black whole is created. And suppose Hawking-radiation does not happen to exists (as far as i know, it has never been confirmed to exist yet), so the black hole will not evaporate itself into this radiation... how dangerous is such a black hole?
The energies that are used and produced are extreme to our senses, however I think they are still nothing compared to the forces and energies found in the galactical black holes.
So, how quick will it grow? Will it be possible to suck up the earth in a matter of minutes, or will it take millions of years?
In the latter case, I think it will just sink to the center of gravity of the earth. There it may first wobble about around the CoG, and (later) have some growing impact on the rotation of the earth as it gets bigger.
(Could it be possible we already have a tiny black hole down in the center, due to collisions from radition from outer space, which helps keeping the earth spinning?)
A high-quality Windows experience?
Hahaha... dream on!
And besides, in the third world they already have enough problems with biological virusses.
Please, don't let them having to worry about computer virusses as well... Don't let them use M$Windows.
I legally own about 200 DVD's, of which about 150 I bought after having illegally downloaded and liked the movie. (The other 50 after having seen the movie in the cinema, when I already knew the movie would be great, or on TV).
When I don't like a movie, I don't want to spend money on it. So, when I don't know a movie, I'll not buy it! If I wouldn't have downloaded movies, the movie industry would hardly have made any money on me.
It's the same with music. I'm planning to buy some music CD's again this week, which I have downloaded recently. First I didn't know the music well, only one or two songs per album. In such I case I just won't blindly (deafly?) buy a full album, I want to know the other songs first as well. When I like an album very much, I just want to own the original album (although I might still be using the mp3's on my computer for convenience).
I know quite some other people who buy music and dvd's the same way. Try before you buy! Because of this, I think, there is indeed (at least some) causation in this correlation.
> I think you'll find that the Desktop Search is completely inseparable from the desktop and that the latter would be rendered completely useless if it is uninstalled. Just like IE is.
You could use another desktop manager for windows, like e.g. bblean.
Since this thing is a Sony, I'm sure it will be overloaded with DRM.
Sony has proved several times in the recent past that they cannot be trusted anymore regarding respect for people's privacy and consumer rights. I'll be saving my money for when the more decent and trustworthy manufacturers start selling similar products.
Bye bye, Sony! Whatever fancy products you'll offer, I'll never do business with you anymore.
A couple of year ago, a friend came to me with his disfunctional laptop. He had accidently spilled beer over its keyboard and the keyboard acted very weird now. Some keys didn't work at all, while others thought they were another key.
I took the laptop apart and, luckily for my friend, the beer had only spread over the keyboard pcb. I removed the keyboard and put it in a tub of warm (not hot) water and some detergent, and let it soak overnight. The next day I rinsed it off intensely with tepid water and air dried the keyboard for a week in a windowsill.
Afterwards they keyboard worked perfectly again:)
A court should always, in any case, be able to get all information from any company.
If a company is not willing to provide data to a court, they should be prosecuted for obstruction. Especially in cases concerning the common good, like in this case.
If this case is really too secret for a court, it proves that the government is commiting illegal activities, which puts them on the same line with terrorists regarding being a threat to the society.
In a democracy, people always have the right to know what their government is doing. It seems democarcy died in the US and has been replaced by a more totalitarian government, surrounded by some large allied corporations, which tries to rule everything and anyone under the false pretext of protecting democracy and freedom.
Which freedom? No privacy is no freedom!
The only way to restore democracy and freedom in the US is to prosecute and sentence the corporations, like AT&T, that are helping the current government remove democracy and the freedom from it's citizens.
If the court cannot sentence AT&T, the general public can. Just drop all your business with AT&T, cancel your contracts, let them feel they went too far this time.
I'm looking forward to being photographed by MS and broadcasted in this Virtual Earth.
I don't know about US laws, but over here (in Europe) we got something like portrait rights. Considering the scope of this project, with millions of viewers worldwide, only the portrait rights MS would have to pay me might already make me a millionair, not to mention the additional fine for not asking my permission to publish a visual recording of me in such a broad medium.

It has already been developed, by Philips Research in the Netherlands, with the possibility to modify the patterns on your textiles e.g. by bluetooth or GSM.

What do you think?
I bet Sony is gonna try and put a rootkit into their drivers for UWB.
They've shown several times in the past they cannot be trusted.
We need to keep a close eye on them...

So, I wouldn't be surprised if the US Army is already secretly using this kind of spying techniques.
Just return the Sony DVD's to the store and demand a refund for the malfunctioning DVD.

This would criminalize intelligence agencies as well, I guess, for using tools to monitor our communications...
