You do realize that investment firms use analyst's data to make decisions on stocks and bonds worth tens of millions of dollars. These aren't some fanboys sitting around pulling data out of their ass. Unless what you think can move stock prices, I'm not too interested. They all pretty much said the same thing and their analysis seems to make a lot of sense. But hey, your "friends are all gamers", so obviously know more than guys who spend 10 hours a day studying the industry.

You are absolutely right that "how they answer it" is the most important thing. Years ago I had a boss that would ask a reasonably simple question but after every answer would just reply "OK, what if that didn't fix the problem." All he wanted was for you to eventually say that you would ask a co-worker or superior for help. Most people gave up before thinking of asking for help.

Well then you're not using it right. Try PSP Video 9. Rather than buy/rent UMD's (dumb format) you can watch downloaded movies and tv on it. Also check out this cool charger grip. It has a built in battery and tricks the PSP into thinking it's running on AC power so you can run it on the brightest contrast level. While I think the DS is cool, I love my PSP. The graphics are great, there are several "Great" games and quite a few decent games. Just rent, don't buy.

Yes, all MS fanboys seem to leave this out. I thought that the hard drive was the best part of the original Xbox. Data could be cached for fast read times. For some reason MS removed the HD, so now X360 developers can't rely on the HD being there, which makes no sense. The processor speed was the only improvement, they removed the HD and kept DVDs 8Gb storage limit.

Exactly, just like "No one will ever need more than 640k of memory", these anti BR flames are completely shortsighted. So you don't have a HDTV or the developer doesn't fill up the disk today, what about two years from now. Xbox people can say over and over again that they won't ever release games on HDDVD or on multiple disks, but I refuse to believe it.

I've got a MCSD and MCSE and they were very helpful in getting interviews, nothing else. But getting the interview in a crowded market is the hardest part of finding a job. You can have all the skills in the world but they don't matter one bit if your resume never makes it past the HR person. A certification is easy to filter and search by, making your resume show up when others don't.

Some/Most, doesn't matter. Sony will product at most 8-10 million units (and thats probably pushing it) in the first year after release. So if just 10% of the PS2 owners are willing to pay $500-600, then every unit is sold. Ask 10 friends if they are willing to pay the release price, if just one says yes, then thats enough.

I'll say again, why should Sony sell you (or anyone) a unit for 300, when someone else will buy that same unit for 500. If they did sell them for 300-400, demand would far outstrip supply anyway. I'm not saying I'm thrilled about the price, but thats what everyone bangs on without really thinking about the simple economics involved.

There are 106 million people who have a PS2, thats a pretty large customer base. Maybe some of them can't afford 500 at launch, but I guarantee there are a couple million who can and will. Later on down the road when the price comes down and availability increases, the rest of the 100 million can get one, its called Price Discrimination. Why should Sony sell you a PS3 for 400 when I'll pay 600.

Copyright owners are finally starting to sue YouTube. Interestingly enough they are using the Grokster ruling, that "companies could be liable if they were found to induce the infringement in some manner."

Their terms of use say that users are responsible for any content posted. However, if I had a copyright on something posted I'd rather sue the company worth possibly billions than go through the hassle of hunting down a user.

I haven't really heard about too much of this, so they are probably doing a pretty good job of taking down offending clips, but when lawyers smell money in the water, look out.
