    Forget the post being sensationalist, what about the legal system? What kind of legal system (or university or whoever is bringing the prosecution) pushes for 40 years for this kind of thing? Clearly not one that expects to do any public good...

    I reckon there's a difference between a title and a position. Yes, 'professor' is a title, but it's a professional one. 'Sir' isn't.

    I'm guessing that's Economics? No, we tend to abbreviate rather than shorten subject names. PE (physical education), RS (religious studies) and DT (design technology).

    The only way to solve this kind of problem is to make the decision makers accountable to the people who employ them (the public). If this made headline news (and possibly some rent-a-celebrities got onboard) this kind of thing wouldn't happen.

    TBH I got it because I wanted a new keyboard and I wanted a good one. I bought it because of the blankness (obviously) but I wouldn't have considered it unless it had very nice action. Which it does. If you can touch-type, no braille necessary. It's really not at all difficult. But for some reason I can't get the numbers into my head. Which makes programming tricky (C++ is hungry for !%&*()- etc).

    I have to disagree. I have a black Das Keyboard (you know, the one without markings). The numeric keyboard is a life-saver (somehow it's just not possible to touch-type the numbers above the keyboard)...

    People go with what feels good. Efficiency feels good because it gives us the feeling of having achieved something in little time. Good design feels good because it gives us the feeling of having achieved something without raising our blood pressure. Coverflow gives us a good feeling because ... have you tried it? It's great! Everything comes down to feelings. We're animals after all. And to dismiss one imperative over another is to deny that.
