I have few older laptops as most recent ones and both Vista and XP are having troubles without driver CDs provided by manufacturer. However Linux works perfect on older laptops (that's not always the case on recent hw).
I like the idea with pop-ups disallowed, this should make way to other top-level domains as well. Unlimited pop-ups *grin* should be allowed only for.xxx tld if that happens in future;-)
Again more traffic from ads that people are going to pay for without actually deciding. They will be probably Flash based as those at video.google.com so I'm really thinking of uninstalling flash player. Haven't seen any usefull flash site (except ads) in a while.
Ever heard of Fast User Switching feature in Windows XP? You don't have to close your programs, just logon as new users by pressing Windows+L (if you turned on this feature), install programs and then return back to your work.
I woudn't say that MySQL is for every website. Sure it is free, small and fast and will suit most webpages. But there are some heavy duty sites and those possibly need more power as in {insert name}...
Another thing is that parents would easily disallow.xxx sites on their home computers to prevent their kids on seeing porn. Same goes for schools maybe.
Soon or later Microsoft has to do something about this. Their design is plain wrong, you can't run everything as Administrator by default.

I think they should allow.xxx and disallow porn in other tlds. In this way there will be a better control over porn on internet. I mean child porn and other disgusting things.
Another thing... you mentioned sugar. Americans think that sugar is cool and that's why 50% of their population is fat. I'm not saying that sugar is evil, I'm eating it too (not so much of course). You're too consuming country to see it. European thinking is a little bit different.
Haha, you write too much:) No I'm not 40, I'm 28, you just got plain wrong image. You used word "guidance", that one is most correct, as small kids cannot decide what's really good and what's bad. Simply there are far better things in life that game consoles, for example sports. Let your kid play games every day and all the day, I won't mine to do this, maybe time to time... but life is not about virtual life in games.
You just got wrong feeling:) I will just lead small child, let him eat healthy food (no hamburgers and coke), explain what's good and what's bad. You took it too seriously. I don't think game console is a toy for small kids. Maybe for bigger kids, but still you have to control time they spend with this, any doctor will say it's not very healthy to stare on TV for 10 hours every day.
Those kids should spend $800 way better than just stupid game console. When we were young there were no such consoles and we was happier. Now kids spend extensive amount of time playing games at home. Sad. I have a small son, but I won't let him do the same:)
Computer itself posing security risk? They actually think people are stupid:) The only security risk there is a preinstalled copy of Windows from their own US company, lol.
All those political decisions are crap.
First requirement is to have Internet Explorer, that page doesn't load correctly in mozilla based browsers. Are they just ignoring standards again? However most of pages at microsoft.com works.

I meant that controlling .xxx porn sites will be easier. Now it is almost impossible to find all porn sites distributed along tlds.

I switched from CVS to SubVersion and I'm satisfied with that move. It wasn't even problematic...
