Personally, I don't think we humans are nearly as powerful as we think we are, and I don't think we have the ability to doom the Earth. Us perhaps, but not the Earth.

I'm an average movie goer, but I thought Revolutions sucked. I hated it.

I "got" the show. No, I didn't mind that two of the main characters died. That was fine. What I did mind is they introduced a bunch of characters that they never developed, that the main characters you spent two other movies following had extended cameos at best in the movie, and that it was mind-numbingly boring.

I don't think critics rated it as low as it deserved.

It has always been this way. Those in charge of hiring tend to chose those whom they are comfortable with.

I worked for the government during Clinton's administration and we didn't hire two individuals, that I know of, for reasons of race. The comments were "he's bright enough, but he's black", and "we don't need any Italians or Catholics working here".

In another department, located across the street, that I worked with, the administrator was a woman and amazingly enough, most of the management positions were filled by women.

The department I worked in, and the others I worked closely with, were riddled with favoritism, cronyism, racism, and a couple of cases of nepotism.

Although you may personally hate Bush for whatever reason (my guess is you've never personally met him and any hatred you feel is just the lemming effect of American politicking kicking in), you cannot lay this at his feet.

I readily admit that I don't like seeing the blatantly obvious owned via a patent. However, if Amazon didn't patent these ideas, somebody else would have.

The patent system in the US is set up in such a way as to invite abuse. It would be rude for companies and individuals not to accept the offer.

Also, entire branches of law are propped up by the rediculous US patent laws. If it weren't for these laws, many poor attorneys would be knocked out of a job by sheer common sense, and they and their families would starve to death. For this reason, I fully support Jeff B. and Amazon. I think Jeff is just being a good humanitarian.

I don't believe that is the case. VB has a corporate stigma of sucking, and of being a beginning level language; both accurate evaluations in my opinion. That is why VB jobs don't pay very well. On the other hand, C# is seen as being a real language, and therefore C# jobs generally pay better; at least for now. If Joe VB can apply for and get a C# job, more likely than not Joe VB will see a big raise.

Personally, I don't care much for either language because neither one of them do what I want; or at least fulfill my needs in the way I prefer.

I find C# to be a great replacement language for VB. I mean, if you are currently writing an application in VB, or are thinking of using VB, or have ever said the letters V and B within close proximity of each other, then I would strongly recommend abandoning VB for C#.
