Well, yes... at least, I remembered that there was an xkcd that has something to do with random words for passwords. I didn't remember the actual words!

  4. Same Thing Happened to Me... on AT&T: Don't Want a Data Plan for That Smartphone? Too Bad. · · Score: 1

I had a (Google-bought) Nexus One I was in the process of rooting it when it decided to call home; I hadn't set up the Wi-Fi yet, so it called over the network. A couple of weeks later I was notified that AT&T had switched me to a data plan ( I'd been using it exclusively on Wi-Fi until then). I was okay with paying the very small amount for the data I'd used, but I didn't have any intention of staying on a plan that included anything but voice. A quick call to at later, and they'd taken the data plan off and switched me back to my voice-only plan. Of course, that was a year ago...

I don't understand why the makers don't simply submit the film to a festival!?

Contrary to popular belief, you can't just submit a film to a festival and have it shown. They're very picky (who knew?), and you'd have to submit to something like 10 festivals just to be accepted by one - if you're very lucky. Some friends recently had this exact scenario happen (submit to eight, rejected by six, accepted by one, still waiting to hear back from one).

I applaud Google's decision to enter the fray.

What I don't understand is that, when I went to the 'sign me up... please!' page, I decided to run the network speed tests. I pay Charter in the Southeast for what I thought was 5 mbps (advertised) internet; the tests tell me I'm getting between 9.55 and 26 mbps. Twenty six. I had to run each of them about four times, I was in such disbelief.

Why do I think that Charter is somehow accelerating all network tests I run after visiting the Google page?
