Well, I wouldn't say you're too old to learn, but it only depends on you.
I've been programming the last 25 years of my life and as I'm reaching 55, and after starting with the Z80 Assembler and Pascal, continued with C for 10 years and for another 12 with Java + SQL, I'm now learning Python:D
I think the real question is: "Do you really want to learn another language?"
The RIAA's laws protect the indie artist FROM the RIAA more so than it protects the RIAA itself.
About indie artists, let me quote Frank Zappa, in a live performance of 'Tities and Beers':
"Don't talk to me about hell. I Know that, I've been there... remember I signed for United Artists for 8 fucking years!"
What indie artists are you talking about? Madonna?
Probably because it takes more then 30% of the people to elect a representative (...)
Does it really? Last time I've read something about it, only half of the americans used to vote, so you would only need 25% + 1 of citizens approval to get elected:-S
As a matter of fact, it's similar in other "democratic" countries... so it only takes about 30% of votes to rule a country with a majority in the parliament:(
If your boss is that stupid and you can't ge rid of him, get rid of the job. Anyway, if he persists on that direction, probably, soon there will be no job left... been there, done that;-)
No problem, here. Most of then aren't worth the time I spent viewing them... still, I remember several "low cost" productions that, most likelly, will stay in the history of cinema for many long years: "Easy Ryder", in the US, and most of the european cinema between 1950 and 1980 (Arrabal, Bunuel, Fellini, Pasolini, Polanski, and so may others).
I'm sure there will be more great "low budget" movies done in the USA... I just failed to remember them:(
They will be dependant not on their skill but on their patronage.
You mean: "They will be dependant on their skill and not on their patronage", don't you?
As far as I understand, for several decades, the real artists have been totally screwed by the major labels. Here are two examples:
Frank Zappa:
I'll prove to you that I'm bad enough to go to hell
Because I have been through it!
I have seen it!
It has happened to me!
Remember, I was signed with Warner Brothers
for eight fuckin' years!!!
(in "Tities an Beers")
Sex Pistols:"Fuck EMI" (in "The Great Rock and Roll Swindle")

(...) the other is trying to get us out of those land wars and is busy starting one in Libya.
Fixed that for you.
There is yet one question to be answered: "what shall we do with the debris?". Lock them down somewhere and hope for the best?
I was about to write the same... someone mod parent up, please ;-)

Actually, the patents will apply most everywhere in Europe.
No, they won't. EC doesn't recognize software patents :D
Under the EPC, and in particular its Article 52, "programs for computer" are not regarded as inventions for the purpose of granting European patents (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Software_patents_under_the_European_Patent_Convention).
Save the planet, use clean nuclear energy!
Is there anything similar to "clean nuclear energy"?
Are you sure?
How can I be sure?
"First, they came for the pornogrphers...
as I was no a pornographer, I didn't speak out..."
I guess you know the rest...
Maybe it could learn to recognize someone throwing up their hands in disgust and slamming their fists on the desk...
Maybe it could even recognize the user throwing a chair in anger and flush the memory to disk before being hit...
Oh no, it wouldn't have enough time, I guess :-S
No! He's being SARCASTIC (I hope).
Please, someone mod the parent UP!
big productions are done for.

Sometimes it seems I hear someone shouting "Give us your data! Give us your data!"...
The government has already done that for you an me.
Hehe... Someone's thinking about Java?
I do believe that you, americans, have to fix your entire law system... it is resembling Kafka's books :-(
The shit is, that if the US justice goes down the drain, it will soon spread all over the world. We see some disturbing signs here in Europe, too...
Please, fix your screwed patent system, so we all can sleep a little better ;-)
In the case of XP is legal, there is no word in the EULA about virtualizing (guess they didn't knew the word, then).
In the case of Vista I think that only the premium/platinum/golden/whatever version allows you to legaly install it inside a virtual machine.
Yes, if it is a XP license :D
Yes, you can do replication (the master/slave thing, aka S/M ^^) with it.
Unfortunately, it's not that easy... as far as I know it doesn't support replication of tables that contains sequences :-(
Besides that, yes, PostgreSQL rocks :D
Someone mod the parent up, please ;-)
They're both RDBMS's.
No, they are not! MySQL is NOT a RDBMS. No transactions, no integrety validations, just indexed tables wrapped by a SQL dialect!
Why troll? He's right!
BTW: You should update your signature... anyway, he's not making a big difference after all. Still "business as usual" :(
I know, I know: "just don't feed the trolls" :-S
