Its like a picture file that requires a 80MB ap to open, uses about that much ram while running and introduces dozens of security holes. Plus they don't natively open in your browser and they are larger that picture files. If you have ever purposefully inflicted PDFs on others I wish you a long walk off a short pier.

True, I do read Al Jazeera on occasion. They get international coverage and have an English side BUT Al Jazeera does NOT have world-wide foreign journalists. They have reporters in the middle east and that is very valuable. But they don't really have a whole lot of investigative journalists outside of the ME. South American or European news is unsurprisingly missing. It brings up another sad point. The recent Israeli incursion into Gaza where Israel did not allow journalists to enter. Reuters had 1 reporter and Al Jazeera had a handful inside. They were the ONLY journalists attached to international papers that were in the country at the time. How can a WHOLE country under fire get only 1 internationally accepted journalist. With a kill ratio of over 100:1 you think it would be newsworthy enough to deserve more than one journalist. (I realize Israel wasn't allowing journalists but investigative journalists are SUPPOSED to break those rules to get to the truth.)

Even if their fans don't want to hear man bites dog. It would be hard to justify not reporting. (I know i'm setting the bar pitifully low)
AP is one of the 3 or so papers on the planet that does investigative journalism internationally. Don't compare it to the papers that just reuse other people's news. This leaves Reuters the only free international newspaper in English. By that I mean a real newspaper with actual foreign correspondents and journalists. How terrifying is the thought that news could be turned 100% into opinion piece blathering with no actual research. As of last june CBS had 0 people in Iraq, FOX and CNN have 2. No American television network has a full-time correspondent in Afghanistan. Reuters has 100people in Iraq (inc staff). I'm sure AP has a similar number.

Server seriously crashed later so i had to redl everything and my total ratio is like.6 from the 6:1 i had before. I should really backup my azureus files to keep ratios. I feel like such a leech
child labour is LOVED by people in poor countries. They figure, I know its horrible our 8yr old has to work but it sure beats being dead. Plus, making next to no money is a step towards making money. Making no money leaves a country mired in starvation for decades. You need money and a system to support children. If you don't have that they need the labour. If we had laisse faire economics then this wouldnt be an issue. Currently laws are written to screw poor countries. If they had the chance they could make things at 1% what we do and it would destroy half our businesses. Oh but it would instantly solve the problems in the poor countries and allow them to support their children without making them work. We just aren't ready to do that.
Also, some anti-discrimination laws like quotas are bad and they are just reverse-discrimination which doesn't help anyone.

We are returning to 1950s style information. Where country leaders hold massive amounts of power over their people and use it for propaganda. Think about how evil most americans over 60 think communism is, or russia/china themselves. That type of division is a HUGE step backwards. And is possibly more depressing that division by isp.
Hulu is the exact same as the espn you despise. Instead of blocking people based on ISP they block based on country. I live in Canada where Hulu is not supported. Please don't support Hulu. As for a proxy, If you find an open proxy that can match your dl speed and stream hd videos I'll be shocked.
First off a proxy will not help if you are being blocked by your ISP rather than the site. I'm pretty sure the list of proxy ISPs will make it near impossible to use a proxy within a week. Open proxies would be gone the day it released.
