Unfortunately it doesn't seem to work for me, not on Slashdot at least. I went to this link the other day and I got a black box with the usual flashblock symbol but the video still autoplays in a layer behind the black box. I double checked and I do have "Block HTML 5 video as well" checked. Maybe it literally only works for video, not audio?
Hmm, good point. I installed Firefox when I first got the tablet and have mostly used it ever since.
However last year I re-flashed to CM11 which must have come with the stock Android browser. I didn't noticed the change from Chrome to Android browser because I never really used either of them, I just installed FF again.
Anyway my original point, that FF mobile is more bloated than the Android browser, still stands but I now realise I shouldn't have referred to it as the 'default' Android browser, my bad...
Actually I've found the Android version of FF performs significantly worse than the default Android browser (on my Nexus 7). This page includes a parallax scroll effect with a massive background image at the bottom:
I'm guessing that the ampersand is counted as a single character by the javascript that prevents you over filling the input box but once sent to the server it is expanded to its HTML entity (&) and the title loses 4 characters from the end (either it's truncated in code or the database field isn't big enough)
...to disable extension signature checking. I'm only half joking
I understand the reasons for doing this, it's too easy for (l)users to be tricked into installing dodgy addons, but if there is a single SIGNED extension that disables this feature then you at least know the user has seen all the warning messages and (presumable) knows what they are doing.
Having said that, I don't understand why they couldn't have a user setting similar to what you get when you edit about:config...
I have not heard about any busts of low-level dealers shipping less than 1 pound (the limit for dropping in a mailbox).
I agree with most of what you say but how likely is it you will ever hear about someone being busted for selling an ounce of coke (or whatever)? Unless said person is a celebrity/VIP the press won't be interested in reporting it. The only other way you'd hear about it is if you were involved in some way, i.e it was a friend/relative or you are in law enforcement.
CAN is the least secure thing out there, and always has been.
Anecdotal evidence coming... A friend of mine managed to crash a Formula 1 car. It pulled out of the pits during practice and subsequently stalled. The whole pit was running around, panicking, scratching their heads and my friend rather sheepishly had to recommend they unplug the camera he'd just installed!
it's because you do all that on a bookface or a tweetspace or an imgster
Don't you mean on my Friend Agenda page?
I always thought that sounded too much like Gender Bender page, not that there's anything wrong with that, it just made me laugh when I heard it, sometimes at inappropriate times in an episode.
Personally I use POP because I don't want to leave many GBs of email on my shared webhosting account with limited disk space. I also use a smart phone and would like to be able to read my latest emails from it (or potentially other devices).
The compromise for me (which works quite well) is I configure Thunderbird to leave the last 2 weeks of email on the server. You can also configure Filters to remove emails from the server after filing them...
In Top Gear S09E05 they had a tractor challenge. In the first test each presenter had to start their chosen tractor, hook up a four-wheel trailer and reverse out of the studio's car park. James May was barely able to start his tractor, let alone complete the rest of the test!
This post title should end in "&am" even though I ended it with a plain ampersand character
So 9 digits + 9 ampersands = 9 + (9 x 5) = 54 characters.
However, if you view source you'll see that your title is actually:
1&2&3&4&5&6&7&8&9&
So the last ampersand is a plain ampersand, not an HTML entity and your title is actually 50 characters...
Yup, that works. Please mod parent +1 Informative...
Luckily greasmonkey userscripts are great for that sort of thing:
// ==UserScript==
// @name noAPK
// @namespace noAPK
// @description Attempts to hide posts by APK on Slashdot
// @include http://slashdot.org/*
// @include http://.slashdot.org/*
// @version 1
// @grant none
// ==/UserScript== /apk-hosts-file/im;
var posts = document.querySelectorAll('.commentBody');
var pattern =
Array.prototype.forEach.call(posts, function(el, i){
if(pattern.test(el.innerHTML)==true) {
el.style.display = 'none';
}
});
Unfortunately hosts file can't prevent me seeing your posts.

I did say it's a Nexus 7 so it's the standard Android browser (com.android.browser - Version 4.4.4)

On FF Android it is very glitchy depending on how fast you scroll, on the default Android browser it works fine.
I do however get your point about eye candy bloat, fashion before function etc...

Television entertainers know about as much about.. ...Science as pop stars do about geopolitics.
The exception that proves the rule?
I can't talk for Bill Bye but I'm pretty sure you can be an entertainer AND a proper scientist

Wrong FLA surely, sounds more like a job for the NUMA
maybe -4?
TY, and please make sure you do mention "WTF, NO VOLUME CONTROL!"

Damn, where are mod points when you need them! +1 Insightful...
Just tried that, no luck. I'm guessing that the referrer has to match hardwaresecrets.com rather than being empty.
The strangest thing I've ever seen flying (although not at Kirtland) is a Citroen 2CV.
Best game for the glove? Hands down, Top Gun.
I can't imagine a game of Hands down, Top Gun lasting very long.
