    Then you've never seen a properly configured firewall. When I set up a cisco box, it doesn't even give a banner and drops all icmp/udp/malformed tcp. If the ACLS are properly defined, you wont be bypassing anything. Also, If I wanted to block someone from the inside its just as easy, and dont say ssh tunnel because that can be blocked too.

    If you aren't running firefox with noscript and addblock then you deserve to get griefed. The solutions are there. Don't use IE or barebones firefox and then complain that every link on the internet isn't safe.

    most jails cells outside of county have payphones but they are monitored. Cell phones are a problem casue they arent monitored and are used to order hits.

    It's mostly phishing scams to get passwords used to send out spam from the hapless users account. The process is likely totally automated.

    I work for a MAJOR telecom provider and this wont be fixed anytime soon. I have inside information that cable ships have been dispatched to fix the fiber cut but there is no ETA. Last time this sort of thing happened was when the sea-me-we cable was cut a couple years ago during an earthquake and effectively isolated greece for 3 1/2 weeks. Due to a lack of non sea cable bandwidth, there is no re-route possible. Affected routes are: Tokyo/Hong Kong Seoul/Hong Kong Taipei/Hong Kong Singapore/Osaka Kuala Lumpur/Tokyo Los Angeles/Hong Kong

    This is really old news. Phishers have been around myspace for ever. They used to use embedded flash with action script to redirect and myspace upgraded to flash 9 which allows the server to restrict flash redirects ( a feature added at myspace's request). They mostly use the phished accounts for myspace spamming and botnet-worm distribution.

    Except for the fact that time travel would basically prove 90% of the laws of physics wrong, including a couple big ones, like conservation of energy, relativity, and most applications of super string theory. Flight and spaceflight actually proved mainstream scientists right. Multi dimensional tunneling might be a possibility, though visiting any other dimension would probably kill you instantly by compressing your entire body into a microscopic speck, or instantly tear it apart.
