    But text messages are almost free in cost to the carriers. What you just said in a long winded way is: usage of sensibly priced sms will cut into their profitable sales of audio/voice transmissions

    This awesome resale value is only cause of the reality distortion field most of the user base is in. Ipods had awesome resale value when they first came out. When they started working on windows and became more mainstream (more new users not under RDF), resale value of ipods dropped

    The person that posed this question to slashdot knows this because he said he is looking into patenting his idea. Yet he is wanting to copy/modifiy someone else's design and is hopping the Chinese contact will just give him the source for the design. wow, some kind of hypacrite he is.

    Yes this does work and the police use it all the time. Picture this situation: You are arrested and placed in a jail cell. An undercover agent is placed in a cell next to yours or in the same cell. You guys get to talking and you are scared and maybe want to exagerate your bad guy side. BAM, now they have you on tape with a confession.

    The assumption you have made is that the content creators hold the copyright to their works. In reality, many content creators sell their works to middle men.

    GP was talking about the default behaviour. You can use shopt (shell option) command to change the histappend option to get your desired effect.

    The updated link in the summary suggests the reason for this is to control content distribution.

    The "content providers" want to maximize their profits in each ditribution channel, with tv and the internet being examples. They don't want stuff intended for internet viewing shown on TV. As Egon from ghostbusters said, bad things happen when the streams cross.

    Given the above, one can infer that tv ad dollars are higher than internet ad dollars.

    Most of the time you don't even need the serach term "torrent", you can use the movie or game title and replace all spaces with underscores. Your google search is now searching for 'warez'
