Australia have got so hot on censoring everything these days they're more of a great grandma state at this point.
With all the digital distribution options as well, I don't think they really know how easy it is to bypass regional restrictions on places like app stores.
A lesser extent Duke Nukem? That game was writing gold. I shed a tear as the main protagonist (Duke) said it was time to "Kick ass and chew bubblegum.... But I'm all out of gum". It felt like it was a commentary on the human condition; "It is time to do 2 things, but I can only resonably do one of them right now"
Without Duke Nukems thick layer of metaphors and social commentary, Kojima would never have been inspired to make Metal Gear Solid.
So these artists are saying that now the stick is far larger than the carrot. What carrot? When have we ever been giving an incentive to pay for the music rather than download it, other than guilt?
I think at this point the stick is just getting larger and pointier and this carrot they may have used at one point has just rotted in the corner.
There are ways around that with a jailbroken iPhone. It will make the phone think it is on WiFi. TrickerThreeG (available in Cydia) will, with a little manual config, make any app you want think it is on WiFi when you have a 3G connection.
EA games use their own servers, even on XBox Live. They wouldn't even go on XBox Live until MS changed that restriction, hence why the PS2 games got network support before the original XBox Live.
I think it is a code issue, if you have a look at games that promised cross 360/Windows play even, I don't think any of them had that feature left in
As for FF11, can someone confirm/deny that 360 players can play with PC and PS2 users of the game?
I'm unsure if that is related to the buy-out or not, but if it is, it really is a statement of intent to go forward with the things that TPB stood for.
Good idea this. The main complaint about totally electric cars is the charge time and this would negate this for a small cost. The company taking the battery could charge it up and use it as stock for the next hot-swap to come in.
If they can get this right (both the infrastructure and the price for the service), it could really help electric car adoption in the future since you'll be able to "re-fuel" just like a normal car, in some respects.
Seriously, these protections that are "not DRM" still manage my rights to things that are digital. However unintrusive these things are to my system, they are still doing the same thing and therefore this re-branding of it is just stupid.
Hopefully people are bright enough to see through this little marketing exercise.
Did those other taxes that were proposed go through? I remember reading on Slashdot about a tax in Canada that would be added to blank media and MP3 players which went into the pockets of the music industry up there.
If it did and this goes in place as well, they surely would be making more money off of taxes than from actual music sales!
Yeah, I'm a bit confused to this BIAS as well. I've seen 20 patents "protecting" the same thing when you look at the back of some electronics. How would limiting them to 5 help them?
Not for me. I can't see a reason why I would want less frequency of decent indie games that I can choose how much I want to pay.
I have most of these games, but I'm going to pick it up for Jamestown alone.
I honestly didn't know there were that many constantly update, up-to-spec browsers for Windows.
Please God don't let any of them be Netscape.
N1 has no multitouch though. Since there is no physical keyboard, thats a dealbreaker for me.
Add in multi-touch and I'm there Day 1 it hits the UK.
And that doesn't need it more than "Noise of zombies being gunned down"
I never update my pirate Windows as it slows down my XBox 360 torrents!!!!

No, PRS will probably say that they are already successful artists with lots of money and they are looking out for the small guy.
Utter bullshit, mind you, but that's the position they'll probably take.

Slight correction

But I'll wait for the old models to drop in price 2nd hand. My local shop currently has 60gbs with PS2 b/c for £250. Once they hit £200 it's mine.
But they've just launched a restriction free video streaming site as well.

I heard the whole company was moving to post only on 4chan and every story would have some releveance to a power rating or other.
Must.... get.... April Fool.... achievement....
I know, before he came along the internet was just a load of facts and Wikipedia especially, was 100% accurate.
:(
I also heard that Colbert founded the RIAA. How dare he

PRS AND ITS SUPPORTER BURN IN HADES
One supporter? Come on, Pete Waterman is at least as big as 2 people, give them some credit
In Soviet Slashdot, karma burns you!
I'll alert the presses!!!!!

On my 360? I never thought I'd see the day!!!!
To top it off, her unlockable outfit is a leopard skin bikini, with an animal tooth necklace and warpaint.
What? Chris Redfield's is his STARS outfit, they're both just dressed in their heritage gear.
