Assuming how much money they spend remains the same and that domains are roughly $10 to register (+ or -), instead of registering thousands, they will registers fourties.
They should provide an "unsubmit" option for submitted stories. I've got an article still in PENDING status that has already been posted by someone else. If I had the option, I'd mark it as a dupe so that it wouldn't show up on the homepage in a couple of weeks.......
Since you are only worried about blocking or not blocking light, could you do something with multiple LCD's (2 to 6ms response time) stacked and "timed" such that you get down to something approaching the 1 trillionth of a second goal? You'd lose some of the light just because of going through the medium, but that can be dealt with.
There're no special accountancy programming degrees or degrees in insurance or banking programming so why games programming? Its just a cynical cash cow. Actually, there are. It's called MIS. To me CS is the broad degree that can apply to any programming career. MIS is focused on business apps. Both degrees can produce good or bad coders, but the classes you focus on in MIS make you better suited to write business apps. That being said, my degree is in CS and for my entire career, I've written business apps -- it just happens to be the most stable and generally highest paying programming position. I've actually taken classes at Austin Community College which has a decent (currently non-degree) program [ http://www.austincc.edu/techcert/Video_Games.html ] that is taught by game industry professionals. After talking with them, I'd have to take a $20k to $30k paycut, double my hours, and probably double my stress if I took a job in that field. I'll stick to it as a hobby, thanks.
I think Game Programming / Game Design programs are fairly new. But a computer science degree puts you in as good a spot as any to be in the industry. You've got the necessary skills (programming) as well as some helpful support areas (science) and probably spent many a night actually playing them (study?!? whatever).
There are some programs in the US now (CMU has a good one, DigiPen/FullSail not sure of quality). It will grow.
You still have to convert UTC into local time so that you know if the other people are awake or not. Unless you'd like me to schedule meetings for 4am local time.
Not true. I've bought refurb Latitudes before......I haven't tried for new, but I'm sure you can go through the small business section and just say that you have a small business (sole proprietorship?).
Most of my Latitudes (work computers / ex-work computers, etc.) have both. Inspirons (home line) tend to only have touch pads. I prefer an external mouse in any case.
I deal with other countries frequently.....and even were we on the same units, I'd still have to do conversions quite regularly.......time. What's a few more conversions.
Those unsavvy neighbors are the best reason to lock it down. You never know which one of them will introduce any sort of virus / trojan / bot onto your network leading to a significant increase in attacks on your computer (even if they are against a Linux box, it can still be a DoS). I'd be more apt to share my network with tech savvy people that I trust....but they'll be the ones most likely to consume all of my bandwidth. So I just lock it down and hog it all myself.
If your LinkSys router is running some flavor of Linux, is it not a computer? Even your microwave is a computer.
In this case, you aren't accessing the computer, you are communicating with it.....you are accessing the NETWORK without (human) permission.....which the law (as stated in the summary) doesn't cover that situation.

My code is only cryptic if it's submitted to a contest like this one: http://www.ioccc.org/ or if performance is critical.
This day and age, the few extra cycles to do something in a more readable fashion are worth it for most tasks. If performance is critical, those rules are out the window and it can get pretty hairy. But those are also the times when you write novels for your comments to let others know what's going on and why it was done.
Actually, you can sue anyone for anything.....of course if it is unfounded, it is likely to be thrown out or for you to lose outright, but you can file the suit anyway.
I'd just use another laptop and something like PC Anywhere / Go To My PC / Remote Desktop, etc. I've already got the other laptop up and going so I can surf the web while I watch TV, so I can just as easily use it to send commands over my WiFi. My phone will even work in a pinch with this software (http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-download-remote-keyboard-connects-pc-keyboard-and-mouse-to-your-pocket-pc.html). It basically allows my smart phone (Cingular 8125) to be used as a remote keyboard / mouse via WiFi.

That's why "The Geeks shall inherit the Earth".....they already occupy all of the basements.....

I wish both of those areas would keep their "dirt" to themselves. The news is bad enough without politicians and hollywood actors.
Layne
Why? There are plenty here already.

You may not use mine for testing.....unless it's the latest adult gadget and the researchers are hot women.

So, obvious differences:
* lack of river
* angle of walls
* color striations
But yeah, still computationally hard. The human mind is an amazing device.

I expect to see aliens wearing blue suits, red capes, and red and yellow logos on them any day now......

I don't have a webcam, you insensitive clod.
Last time I checked, a webcam was a hardware purchase......and not everyone has one (for some of you, I'm glad of that fact).
