e) Spend a portion of net profit on replacing costly/limited connections with cheaper, higher efficiency bandwidth connections to allow your business to remain competitive in the marketplace. --Remember, this is what any good business does and what stock owners should be insistent on. Otherwise, due to competition and natural market forces, your company will become stagnant, outdated, irrelevant and surpassed by nimbler, smarter companies. Competition ladies and gentleman, a wonderful thing. For some reason it seems like Time Warner Cable didn't get the competition memo. Let me be the first to say; enjoy your misguided, shortsighted failure to up-and-comer _EMPTY_REFERENCE_ !
Every time someone equates the school environment to the work environment they always seem to forget that you're required by law to attend school. Because of this all manner of factors change (legally, socially, etc.). There is almost never a valid reason to compare a school environment to a work environment. During work
If you were being insubordinate... you would be fired and they'd have security escort you from the building. If you refused, you would be arrested.
but you always had the choice to not show up that day at work if you felt a texting session was more important, or you could leave the work day early, take some leave, etc. The options are many within the law. School is not work, and shouldn't be compared to it. You must legally attend. That's a whole different ball game.
Actually, I don't get why folks are so opposed to it. It doesn't cause them any harm.
I'm completely against the sort of legal discrimination involved with Prop 8, but as a former social Darwinist (go look it up) and a critical thinker, I can play devil's advocate here.
It does cause them harm.
For those who don't let religion or something else cloud their thinking on this issue, one could still argue allowing homosexuals to marry, or cohabitate, or continue with their lifestyle would cause the greater human race harm.
The far reaching consequences of this trend are obviously unknown, but one could suppose that it is not in our best interests from a species survival standpoint.
No judgment on their action necessary. It just doesn't seem to be a step in the right direction from an evolutionarily point of view.
I'll say it again, I don't hold this belief any longer, but to write off every person who is against homosexual marriage so easily ignores extremely intelligent, well intentioned people (how ever few that may be).
A guy calls up and says, "Yeah, they told me I need your help. I got this card in the mail, and I need to put an e-file in my modem." Turned out the card was a 3.5" floppy, the e-file was a database update, and the modem was his CPU. The rest of the call consisted of me getting the job done by remote control, all the while ignoring him throwing about tech terms and buzzwords he'd heard somewhere and had no inkling of their meanings.
Does Ferrari's Forumla 1 racing team pay for itself? Nah, it's an investment to promote an image.
Incorrect.
At the end of the day Ferrari is interested in racing and racing only. No, it's F1 team doesn't pay for itself, but unlike every other car manufacturer, they don't use racing to sell their cars. They sell their cars so they can go racing. They started out racing and when sponsorship money wasn't enough they sold cars to the public at an abnormally high price. Buyers understood, and still understand today that they are funding the racing team with a donation and getting a decent car out of the transaction.
Same here (Time Warner Cable / Road Runner) only my bill went up to $47.50/month maybe 6 months ago. I've been doing this for 5 years. Previously did it up North with Comcast (before they became a horrid company).
I've never had a problem getting unbundled Internet.
I'll stick with Altavista, thank you very much. I moved from Web Crawler to Lycos to Altavista because each offered a huge improvement over the previous. Never found a reason/need to move to Google and check one against the other on a semi regular basis. Altavista is still on top as far as I'm concerned.
You've missed my point and strengthened it at the same time. You can't control what happens to you for sure, but you can control how you react to it, or how it makes you feel. On top of that, why would you want to relinquish that control, or teach people they don't have it to begin with?
Drawing pokemon porn, or having virtual sex with a furry avatar in SL (I don't do that) is completely legal, but that's not the sort of thing [most] people would like their boss or coworkers to find. Fixed.
If they were truly interested, I would have no problem telling them.
Still, you must let it hurt you. If your career is ruined, hopefully you realized this was a possibility, and played your cards accordingly. If it were to happen to me, I'd shrug, say "You caught me" and go on my merry way. Taking away my career should not ruin me. I don't mean to bring existentialism into this but I have. If you don't believe you have ultimate control over what ruins you and what doesn't, you've already lost the game.
John Doe #3; please raise your hand so that I may buy you a [insert beverage of choice here].
Double whoosh.
Whoosh.

I'm Ben. 100 Internets to the first person to guess my last name.
if somebody is taking pictures of your house, you walk down to the road, ask them to stop, and they do.
Tell that to Britney Spears and note her reaction.
So apparently no one has heard of ComboFix?

Like what; CPU?
Although I guess it runs into the Simpsons/Humanoid problem.
Is fan fic porn involving her child pornography?
No, it's inter species erotica.
I'd say "Stuff that matters".
The response to this article proves what I've been saying all along.
Linux is for noobs.
It takes someone special to run Windows.

You'd figure the playboy would have more kids than the monogamous, married father making your point invalid, but then birth control comes into it...

When one logs in, Slashdot asks them to enter their "Nickname" so he's in the clear and Slashdot looks ahead of it's time.

The only thing he losses is his chance to augment his visible web presence.
I on the other hand am taking full advantage.
Do we care how short a flash of light can be created?
Can't you just illuminate something brightly for any length of time when taking a picture?
Isn't shutter speed the problem?
Someone educate me.
What is this A-TRAC you speak of?
It must have "A" tracks?
