I run into many people every day. There are at least 20 people in the systems I frequent every day.

You must have been doing the wrong missions. Command and Security agents are mostly kill missions. Command I think is upwards of 95% kill missions. These can vary from some simple drone infestations to defending against blockades. "The Blockade" mission is very intense and far from boring. You'll still get the occasional courier mission, but they are few and far between for me.

You can do that too. EVE doesn't have to be challenging if you don't want it to be.

You can go mining and relax alone or in a group in some asteroid belt somewhere. The only challenge you'll face there is an occasional wave of a few pirates spawning and attacking you.
You can run trade routes between systems or regions and enjoy the beautiful scenery the universe provides.
There are many things you can do that are easy and not very challenging in EVE. And there are just as many, if not more that are challenging. Try out the 14-day trial, you might enjoy it.

Have you even seen a PS3 or the 360 HD-DVD drive? Last I checked, the HD-DVD box was a clunky external component and the PS3 had its Blu-ray drive built in. What else then would make the 360 more capable as a media center?

    4) PS3 games over Wifi are horrible. There is a noticable lag difference vs ethernet.
I'll give you one really good example to blow this out of the water...

My younger brother purchased the cheaper version of the PS3. My parent's house is several miles outside of town and is hooked up to this extended range DSL from the local telco. (Pioneer Telephone @ Kingfisher, OK) It is supposed to be a 1.5Mbit line, and as you can imagine it never achieves that kind of bandwidth. This is hooked up to a Netgear 802.11g wireless router.

As I said, he got the cheap PS3 without wireless, and instead of running a cable down the hall from the router to the living room where he hooked up the PS3 he did the following:
Attach wireless equipped laptop to the household wireless network.
Connect PS3 to computer's ethernet port via crossover cable.
Share wireless network connection using windows internet connection sharing.

And voila! His PS3 is on the Internets. He also claims to me that the setup worked really well for playing Resistance online and he really didn't notice much horrible lag.

So you sir are full of shit. There is no way that this setup can provide any better performance than the PS3's own wireless card ever could.

Its fine and all needing brighter light for reading or doing close work as you are older. But why not consider putting lower wattage bulbs in your ceilings, fans, etc and buying a specialty lamp for that reading and close work. There's no reason to blast 100W worth of light all over the house if you just need some extra light on your soldering or the latest chapter of Harry Potter.

There are far too many things that get someone called a 'sex offender' under the laws.

Here's a story about the friend of a (deceased) friend:
Guy was out drinking, and got into a bit of a drunken brawl. He was now a bit scuffed and bloodied up from the fight. Riding back with a buddy, they stopped at the local Quick Trip on the way home. He needed to use the restroom, but since he was all bloodied he didn't want to go inside. So he walked around the back of the store to pee behind the dumpster. Unluckily, two old ladies happened to drive around back there and saw him. They called the cops.
He was charged with indecent exposure thanks to these two old ladies who happened upon him taking a leak, and had to register as a sex offender for it.
I dunno... maybe he shook it three times?
