    Nobody has legal jurisdiction over WikiLeaks.

    That won't stop the US arresting and charging the people involved. Or just holding them indefinitely in a foreign country, without charge.

    That makes no sense. The US routinely charges citizens of other countries for breaking US law, even if they have never stepped foot within the US, even if the crime was entirely outside its borders.

    Mossad will just kill you and the KGB(or whatever three letter acronym they're using these days) will find a creative way of killing you.

    More than likely they would killed the person who leaked to Wikileaks, not members of Wikileaks. Because of this, it's unlikely they would receive anything to leak about countries like that.

    Not peat moss, microscopic marine life, e.g. plankton. Coal generally forms from peat bogs.

    Also, the original comment is confused. The bacteria (apparently) feeds on hydrocarbons that formed abiotically. The bacteria is not producing hydrocarbons, as he claims.

    As someone who has worked in a mine that went to 1 km depth (and increasing), it is completely not feasible.

    It costs $6000 per metre to develop a tunnel. It is hot down there, from the geothermal gradient, machinery exhaust and air compressing as it is pumped down. It is humid, making the heat worse and everything rust. The air is stale, dusty and has diesel particulate in it. There is also a limit on how big a void can be, if it is too big the rock will collapse.

    The article isn't correct. The 802.11 standards and WiFi was not developed by CSIRO. The technology was first invented (and patented) by CSIRO. Following this various tech companies developed the standards/brand, without dealing with CSIRO at all. CSIRO sued one company, they settled, and most other companies have come to an agreement with CSIRO.

    The article also says that can bowl a human over. Now imagine a pack of wombats; one traps you in, another bowls you over, then while you are helpless on they ground they all rush in rip you to shreds. Once they have the taste of blood, there is no stopping them. But they definitely can't climb trees...

    I agree. The reports of Iran interfering in the war is proof they aren't completely bias against the US. This supports the US governments stance of Iran being not that good.

    The New York Times is, IMHO, providing good coverage. They have links to the original documents in their articles. None of the top articles are about the story of the leaks. But I'm not American, is the NYT actually read by common people over there?

    They didn't counter the statement that there is a risk.

    Everything in life has risk. The best you can do is mitigate the risk. Reportedly, Wikileaks attempted to redact as many names as possible for the first leak and asked the Pentagon to help (and none was provided).

    That would actually be the cheapest (relatively) part. You would only need a purpose built rocket that only takes gold. There wouldn't be an life support systems etc. Just gold, fuel, guidance, comms... and a parachute? The greatest cost would be getting the cargo rocket and fuel up to the moon in the first place.

    Most gold (that is mined) occurs in its elemental form. Some will occur in other minerals, such as galena and pyrite. It can also occur in an alloy with silver (electrum). I believe the most common silver mineral is tetrahedrite.

    Ore just means rock that is profitable to mine.

    By income through capital gains you mean share options? That is standard for executives, as it ties your income to the company performance.

    I'm Australian so I don't know the laws in the US, but are shares etc that are received as income taxed at a lower rate? In Australia, anything you receive from your company is counted as income and taxed at standard income rates.

    Yesterday I was cleaning out my cupboard filled with old computer crap and found 16 million IPs. They are on a 5 1/4" floppy. Should I just mail it to ARIN?
