The good thing about bitcoin is that you can track where the coins went. The id's of all the Mt. Box accounts will all be known when they end up going to court. If they stole money or coins we will know.
It's just the normal leftist rant against republicans. It's going to get worse since there is no end in sight for the republican states stealing workings and jobs from Califnornia, NY and other states with bad govt policies.
No, you see the signs because we don't want all the people from California and the east coast coming here and screwing it up like they have done there. The water issue isn't such a big deal.
If you look at his numbers, the difference for low income and middle income tax payers isn't much. The charts don't really make your point. It's a 2% difference for the lowest 60% of taxpayers. Is that a "much heavier" tax rate? I don't think so. As for high-tax/low-service state, that's not really true either. We get a lot more for out money than in California. I have lived in the SF bay area and also in Austin. It's a lot better in Texas.
There is no good reason to trust an exchange with large amounts of money/bitcoins. You can encrypt your bitcoin wallet and keep duplicates, so there isn't a need to put the money in a bank. I don't know why so many people were keeping such large amounts of coins on their servers.
There is no ethical dilemma. The ban is on organ sales is killing people. The example from Iran clearly shows that selling organs will increase the supply and may also reduce net cost since the long term costs of dialysis exceed the transplant cost (not to mention the lost productivity of someone on dialysis or dead.)
Due to years of prohibition in most states, the numbers of people carrying concealed (or even open carrying) handguns is still pretty small. Still, there are several reports a week in Texas of a bad guy shot or killed by a good guy with a gun. It doesn't take anywhere near 100 coverage for it to deter criminals. There is at least anecdotal evidence that people trying to commit mass murder do so in areas that are officially gun free (schools, theaters with no-guns allowed signs, etc.)
No, my wife used to work at ATT (on the UVerse team) and we still couldn't get it. It depends on wire length plus a few other factors. I used to be able to get 144kbit IDSL but even that's unavailable here now. We are just outside the city limits, but still in Austins extra territorial juristdiction.
Except that in many areas of the country you don't have any choice. Where i live (outside Austin Tx) the only wired provider i can get is Roadrunner. Luckily for me they offer 50/5 Mbit unmetered service for a somewhat resonable price.
Many years of govt created monopolies and high barriers to entry mean that it will be years before we have real competition.
Many criminals have been shot and killed by good guys with guns. Many more have been stopped just by seeing the good guy with the gun. Google it. The examples are not hard to find.
This is true, but if you read some things that have recently been published it isn't so clear that you will be able to withdraw that $50k. In an "emergency" they can limit or prevent you from taking your money out in cash. Just look at what happened in Cypress.
This isn't completely correct. You can make a gun and sell it, you just can make it with the intention of selling it. There are lots of AK's and other guns that have been home built and eventually sold or given away by the people that created them.
Bitcoin to $ or other currencies. You may be limited on how much you are allowed to convert per day, depending on the exchange. I know Coinbase has a 50 Bitcoin/day limit, but there are multiple exchanges so you could break it up that way or have your spouse create an account to double your limit.
GPU's won't make you any money now. Butterfly labs is terrible about shipping their product so it's probably best to get something that is shipping like asicminer blades. Still, with the price of the hardware and difficulty increases it's unlikely you can make any money now
What they did with Solyndra? You mean bankruptcy? Adoption will come when the price drops. That probably means they will come from China. Throwing free money at bad corporations will not magically shift production from China to the US.
That's the whole point of laser sintering. You can print in titanium, steel or even iconel. There was a recent article about a company here in Austin that printed out a 1911 pistol that is just like a normal Colt 1911 you would buy.

It's raining in Austin right now :)

How exactly is the GOP keeping salaries down?

Yes, but the backhaul circuit prices have fallen considerably in those 5 years. You don't need to oversell them by 20-50x to make the same profit.

Even in NYC, retired cops can get a license to carry.

I would tell you to cite the law for this, but you can't because it's not illegal.
This was a waste of time and the judge should have fined the groups who filed the lawsuits.

$1 million isn't all that much now. There are multiple exchanges processing 80k+ bitcoins per day.
If you can sell them for $1 million, then by definition they are worth $1 million.
