...yet I've onlyeverheardbadnewsaboutthePS3. The Wii is the first console I've ever been excited about, simply because it's meant for my gaming style: multiplayer, social fun.
Keep in mind: 95% of computer users are not knowledgeable in the ways us/.ers are. We (5%) care about security, functionality, efficiency and compatibility. The remaining 95% cares about pretty colors, bells, whistles, solitaire and anything else that's "purty."
Good point, and more than that, can anyone give me one example where a software developer allowed external companies to do the patching of their software for them, that wasn't merely a subcontractor of said developer? I personally don't see the big deal, whether Microsoft does it or [insert any company here] does it, so long as my computer can run that's all that matters (to me AND to the 95% of everyone else out there that are merely basic computer users).
I can't wait for Vista. It makes me laugh to see everyone complaining about security in software that's still in Beta. And for all those complainers, how many will own at least one piece of equipment running Vista in 5 years? My bet would be well over 50%... (look at XP's number's now!)
I wanna see a program (I can't imagine it'd be in anything but Flash, at least given today's technology) that actually grabs words and basic content material from a video, and auto-tags it. Until then, a "video search engine" is really only a "video tag search engine."
Though, why not? I'm not saying to purchase the system exclusively for this functionality, that would be a waste of money, though I must say that this feature is the first for the system that is pushing me towards wanting one.
I try to run @home utils on my PC any time I can. Unfortunately, with the world today you can no longer run them at work. Note: I'm aware SETI@home is different than FAH, but the concept that was scrutinized is identical. This leaves home computers to run the programs. My poor 1.7gHz computer can barely push out a unit a week, and though I'm sure every little bit helps, I'm excited that the PS3 kiddies will be contributing to a constructive cause whether they want to or not.
Who creas? As lnog as you can utdrnesand one atehnor, why do we hvae to be so aanl aoubt the senlplig, let anloe wrod odrer or uagse? You got the pniot of waht tehy wree tnyirg to say, rihgt? Sotp yuor bintihcg!
Thank you. A bit of insight in this incredibly overbeaten horse. Oh geez did I just profile dead horses? No, I'm kidding, but seriously folks, lighten up a bit! I want to know one individual that hasn't generalized at some point. Who here can say they've really never been racist? Just read the comic "boondocks" once...and laugh. That's the point! Embrace the differences, and if you truely believe that all races are identical...ahem...
I'm not quite sure why the EU has it out for Microsoft. I understand the prevention of monopolies, but this is silly. Should automobile manufacturers not sell airbags with their cars, just so other companies can manufacture them? Granted, the auto industry does not have one clear leader, but it makes sense to me that proprietary software would best be secured by the people who wrote it... am I wrong?
Does this mean that to burn a movie that will be compatible on both systems, I would have to burn it twice? I certainly hope there is some software out there to do this, but then again...would that mean that it supports upconverting a DVD AND downconverts an HD-DVD, depending on the format of the original media?
Actually, the dev kits currently out don't even have full hardware support. There's minimal networking support, the controllers are nowhere near final (no tilt, no final design...) It's been rumored that the GPU on the most recent dev kits are at only 80% the speed the final PS3 (which has been dropped again)...
I want to see EVERY console do well, for the greater good (in innovation, consumer costs, FUN!) that competition brings, so the fact that SONY is bunging this up as badly as they are is only depressing.......I mean come on, who wouldn't want to play Madden with 6 of your buds by your side?!?!?
Your basic components of draft 802.11n hardware are the same. At the heart of the 802.11n is multiple-input/multiple-output (MIMO) communication--using multiple radios simultaneously transmitting and receiving different signals to and from at least two radios on the client side to and from two or more on the access point.
Instead of just adding more radio's, transmitters and receivers, when will we actually start seeing real innovation?
As far as I'm concerned, 802.11g works fine for me!
Simply put: Chuck Norris kicks that much ass.
The moment they bring back Walker: Texas Ranger is the moment I'll buy this product.
allllright Tom Cruise, time to get off your soapbox!
Who the heck keeps the 'Copy protect music' option on anyway?

How is this a troll?! Apparently even the moderators here are anti-MS!

Can you kindly enlighten me on how one would act out a carburetor? How about the WTC?
The burning question: how would one act out pr0n if, well, they need to look for it on the internet?

Well also according to that site the word "hello" doesn't have a translation either!
The real Klingon translation for "Hello, I am lonely!":
Yo'thar, mei'nurms pennello pee'krooz!
And could you label one current FPS as 'definitive'?
Halo 2
M. Jane Kitchel?
Make that 3 big reasons...
Macromedia doesn't exist anymore, Adobe bought them out months ago...
Macromedia won't be giving us ANYTHING!
