The single player campaign is fun and really keeps you going through the game till the end. The multiplayer mode on the other hand isn't as much fun, maybe i'm not very good at this game, but it felt like i was constantly losing my units because the opponent had the right type of unit (helicopters) to destroy my tanks for example.
A good team would have players helping each other but that rarely is the case, a game shouldnt relay too much on the teamwork aspect even though that is what most online games seem to do these days.
A good example on how to do this right is quake wars, where team work is key to victory but all the units are strong enough to fight and don't instantly die because they face the wrong type of opponent as with WOC.
I said whoever edited/submitted the article didn't need to add the extra information that the blogger is from Israel. People like him/her just cause more hate understand?
What a non-story and the microsoft blog got slashdotted within seconds.
Also, why in the hell do you have to mention Israel, sympathisers like you cause more negative publicity then you do good you know?
You are right and should be modded insightful. Zonk's anti-sony FUD agenda is really getting out of control here, maybe FOX News should offer him a job spreading FUD.
Xbox was and is a total failure so is Zune and everything else microsoft tries to force into peoples face. Xbox 360 is a huge risk, the 33% (or more) failure rate is not helping them either with World Domination(tm) in the living room. Not to mention, they make people pay _monthly_ to play games online.
You are full of SHIT, EVE online might aswell be a MUD where you log in, change some settings, and wait for your stats to climb as you type in `mine' and `dock' now and then. In the mean while you could watch a slide show of pictures made by the hubble telescope to get your graphics fix. There is no `grinding' like in other MMORPG but there is `mining' which is a hell lot more boring and not to mention the amount of time you need to wait (and pay) for some stat to go up so you can continue playing, i mean mining.
I think that the UT serie walks behind the Quake serie and is only improving it gameplay-wise (like if it where a mod or something). I can already predict the next game the guys at Epic will make, it will be a Quake Wars:ET clone using there Unreal Tournament franchise..
Why arnt they trying to come up with something more unique? Playing death matches and capture the flag is getting boring you know..
Release early, release often if you want other people to get involved, if you just write everything yourself and release it afterwards i don't think many people would really care unless it is a really interesting project. The website you are going to host your source code doesnt really matter (that is atleast what i think, i can't think of any good reasons why one site would attract more developers then the other), so you might aswell put it on sourceforge or freshmeat. After using some search engines i found this site which might be of interest for you aswell.
In short, try to get people involved early.
To make life for developers easy, they (IBM and Sony) should start writing patches for GCC so it can produce code that makes full usage of the Cell CPU. This does not need to be a hard task, they can make guidelines for programmers to make it easy for the compiler to optimize code for example. In the end I hope it will be like switching on a compile flag like you would do to compile with support for SIMD.
I think we all should just wait and see what this cell CPU is capable of, just like the "emotion engine" it was laughed at but did fairly well (imagine for example "Hitman: blood money" coming out when the Ps2 was released:)). Also don't expect games from (EA, Ubisoft) to be using all of playstation3's power as they will probably write it in a generic way so it can be ported around from crapbox360 to playstations3 and visa versa.
Holy shit, grow the fuck up, it's not the like that ancient rootkit killed half your family and raped your father. Go troll somewhere else.

Are you kidding me Zonk? You usually try to hide it, but now you just sound like a cheap marketing whore.

people keep asking why some people hate Microsoft..
Sometimes, I wonder if people even know what GPLv3 is. How is it possible for this license to slow adoption of GNU/Linux in any way possible?
What the hell is wrong with you..?
This is just retarded, who is modding this guy flamebait and troll? Talk about abusing your mod points >_>;
Title says all, unless you don't know what operator != means.
You know why? Because `evil' is a matter of perspective.
Uhm who cares? How is this news, are you also going to announce every update for any other game? No?
Congrats, you _almost_ made me laugh!
That you are going to be used to make this software populair, so they can start making money of it in the future (think MySQL).
i lol'd
