Lab grown meat is probably in our future, but I have seen these insect eating predictions a few times before since the middle of the last century and somehow we are still producing enough proper food for everybody. OK, except India and north east Africa. They still don't produce enough food for everybody and probably never will, since they refuse to reduce their populations to sustainable levels. Well, I suppose their populations are at sustainable levels, just not the kind of sustainable that the rest of us would consider sustainable...
Long ago, towards the end of the last century, desktop computers were BYOD and Visicalc was the killer app. That was the extinction event of the dinosaurs.
Now, with new smaller BYODs, the desktop computer is precariously balanced on the edge of its extinction event.
Actually, if it is 6 or more machines, Dell doesn't even charge for doing that. You just give Dell a preloaded HDD and they use that to image all the machines on your order.
All that will do is cause the patent trolls to create a number company with no assets for each lawsuit. So when costs are awarded, they will be bust and the victim will still be burdened with all the costs.
You may be onto something. Since MS doesn't grow, the only way to make money from its stock is to buy when they release a duff OS version (ME, Vista) and sell when they release the next working version (XP, 7).
MS is using their monopoly to force the whole world to upgrade again.
If you run a business and a partner sends you a document in the latest fscking MS Office format, then you have little choice about the matter.
Two buildings eh? Like those US companies who had their main and backup systems in the two World Trade Centre Towers in NY. It sure helped them a lot...
Set up a dot matrix printer with continous paper and let it spool down the elevator shaft into the basement. If the spooks come looking for data, point them at the basement door...
General Dynamics also dropped the EDS clowns a few years ago and went back to a full complement of in-house staff, after they got hit for the second time with a major infestation of spyware.

"baited breath" - phooye... You must be a Linux penguin. Normal people do not eat achovies or other kinds of fish bait.
It would require something like a Vogon Poetry Appreciation Chair...
It is easy to eradicate poverty. They just need to stop breeding like rabbits and the problem will go away within 30 years.
The colonial occupation was long before Indians ruined their own country by breeding like rabbits. Some things you just cannot blame on colonialism.
Just making it there is not necessarily useful though: http://articles.cnn.com/1999-09-30/tech/9909_30_mars.metric_1_mars-orbiter-climate-orbiter-spacecraft-team?_s=PM:TECH

Won't it be easier and cheaper to prune the trees?
Where is that spam when we need it?
I would have expected that these suicide bomber termites were from Afghanistan, not French Guiana.
Accoring to Buz Aldrin, the panels were thin enough that they would pop during presurization and go 'bongggg...' - like an oil can.
It is easy to make Windows 7 crash. Just run Microsoft's Skype. It crashes the whole computer hard about once every two weeks.
So Windows 8 is very good if you don't use it on either a server, desktop, notebook, netbook, phone or tablet...
Well, I would never cease to be amazed by a wench reading Sloshdat... ;)
No, the rest are visiting aliens from Betelgeuse...
You seem to be the only other person that actually read the article and understand it. This is a pure BS marketing transistor.

Someone will just make a warm boot utility that will run after the secure boot. So all that will happen is that the machine will take longer to boot.

In Canada, moneys in dormant accounts revert to the Federal government.
