I originally trusted MS with Windows updates, but as usual with matters concerning Microsoft, it was a huge mistake. The updater got greedy and decided to update my MS Office. I don't have outlook installed, since I never use it. The updater however somehow failed to detect that and started downloading a "critical update" for Outlook without permission. It then started asking me if it's ok to install, but naturally the install always fails, as the files are not where it thinks they are, so it cancels and later again asks me whether it's ok to try. I've been seeing that wizard ever since for a few months now. The solution? I can think of two actually: 1) Reinstall the OS (preferably to something Open Source) or 2) Get used to the thing.
That's how it always is with Microsoft - the bug is there for so long that everyone knows about it, and then it's not a bug anymore. It's a "feature"...
"Who cares?" sounds too much like Bethesda Softworks statement: "True, fusion cells shouldn't just explode, but then again, I don't really care. Exploding cars are fun." - Go Simpsons and igniting corn flakes!
Well if people are switching to this junk, there is something about it to be learned from. Is it better marketing? Some feature people like? Or is it the image?

You are working in different units. 6000 god years is about 12 900 000 000 Sun years, which is not that different from the values we predict from the speed of the expansion of the Universe.
Religion is not wrong, it's just using different meanings of words and God's special units (GSU) rather than SI units.
So In US and the other two countries, E does not equal mc^2?
Can't all American Scientists simply get a calculator like this one that can convert units (even obscure ones like R!) and simply use it whenever in touch with metric-unit scientists?

My biology teacher always underlined the word theory at least twice when talking about Evolution.
I was taught that Nuclear Fusion ONLY occurs between deuterium and tritium.
And now they try saying that I should not worry, cause Global Warming is very natural.
The question is: "Still, even if it's natural and we have absolutely nothing to do with it. Will it kill us?"
I keep wondering - why these kind of people say that everyone is wrong without researching the subject?
If Earth is 14,000 years old, how can you explain carbon dating and other half-life or big-bang trace based evidence?
How is that different from "The Earth is flat because I never saw people walk upside-down to me. They should teach THAT in school."
This is not a new idea. It's Global Dimming and it has been here for quite some time.
But the reason why we haven't done such thing yet is not that no one figured out the precise plan. It's because we have a reason why we started filtering exhaust. One is medical, another is interference with rain clouds - Remmeber the famine of 1984? Guess what was the reason.

I live here for 10 years now and I just get the impression that people around me are tall. Most of the girls I know are taller than me, and it's not like I'm short...

If you compare this country to Germany, where I saw tonnes of magazines about Linux and php just sold everywhere, here however the closest you get is a magazine about freeware/shareware stuff you can find on internet and one called "How to handle PC" (in one of the issues there was a three page article about adjusting you START menu on your windows 95/98. First page and a half explained how to right-click it and select properties:S
I live in Czech Rep, the land of tall people with large feet (I'm serious, I know many kids around 15 that are over 190cm and wear feet size 53 - sorry for the EU units:P).
You get treated as shit, cause Czechs not only hate foreigners, but also other Czechs (as weird as it may seem), so you'll hang out with English speaking peeps anyway, by which I mean other foreigners, cause people here expect you to know their funky language...
Also as an Economics student I can see that there is something wrong with this country's economy and if you think your government is corrupt, you haven't see the one here.
If you ask me, avoid coming to Czech rep for other reason that tourism...
One of IE7's revolutionary features was supposed to be security, although it took less than 24 hours for Secunia to post an advisory about a security hole. Moreover, the bug seemed to be carried over from as early as IE5.5. What approach did you take to improve browser's security, and how come the vulnerabilities have been carried over?

There are scientific explanations that would allow Humans to be here forever, and no evolution being involved, just as there are theories of the creation of space without any singularities involved.
I personally do believe in the fact, that human evolved from animals, but there was something else involved. Something that made the change. This mutation from which species like us were born, arguing about our own creation. Like some thermofusion reactions occuring on Earth.
And we can always blame the Goa'uld!
Accorfing to Stephen Hawking's Universe series Hawking was the one who bet that Black Holes don't exist (as some kind of insurance, so if they don't exist and all his work is useless, then he at least would get a subscription to a nice magazine) and he then gave the other guy (forgot his name) 1 year subscription to Penthouse, so if this is true and black holes don't exist, he would get the Penthouses back + a 4 year subscription to Private Eye.
Why can't they co-exist though? Can't there be a reasionable scientific explanation that would allow both of these to live???
