There is talk of game designers using the multiple core processors to greatly improve AI and other game aspects(no link). This latest generation of consoles had mostly an improvement in graphics and less to gpu(pullin' this stuff out of my butt). To give the exact same game experience to players, less games will try to utilize the technology beyond what can be accomplished with a console.
My teachers feel that it is an excellent place to start research. I understand them not accepting a anonymous person with a computer as a valid source.
I agree wholeheartedly. After playing (pre-CU)SWG and Guild wars, I was very spoiled by innovative skill sytems. I was appalled at the simplicity of WoW.
Having the most profitable MMOG ever, you would think they could afford the game designers and play testing for innovation filled innovations with innovation sauce.
