One would think that spamming a forum of nerds might not be the wisest course to take...especially with a M$ anti-virus program on a forum with obvious hatred for said platform....
I would agree to cutting farm subsidies, but that won't do much for foreign farmers really seeing as most foreign aid is in the form of military aid and the rest is economic aid. Most of the countries we give foreign aid to do not even need it, as they are developed countries.
Agricultural subsidy is lot more complex than creating "artificially cheap" food.
Actually first on the block should be foreign aid. Then I would agree with cutting defense as well as any and every other program out there with NO exceptions.
You do realize that when you join the military you surrender those rights and are held under the UCMJ unless the military decides otherwise. That is why he is in a military jail and will be tried under military law and rules.
So you actually think paying extra taxes is good? How about this approach...shrink the government so we can lower taxes. WOW what an idea. You are also wrong in your thinking that lower income tax means higher property tax. That is only because you allow the government to just keep spending so they can tax you more.
Look at NH for example, the lowest taxes in the country (no general income tax, no general sales tax, 5.80 property tax). They do it by having a lean government the way it was meant to be.
You can blame whatever president you want to blame for the economy but the fact is you have no one to blame but yourself. People are so lazy now they won't get up and demand the government serve them. It doesn't matter which one wins, you are just voting more on the same into office.
If she has received threats then a crime has definitely been committed. Perhaps the way to deal with it is not as a spoofed phone, but why are people she doesn't know making threats. Those people should be easy to track... let them explain to the telco and feds why they said that thing to a little old lady.
Not a bad idea, she should complain to the FCC who governs communication anyhow. Not the FBI.
You could fix the "who cares" part by forwarding calls to her number to the FBI or your local phone company.
Careful with that...
I got my hand slapped by the FBI once because they wouldn't do anything so I redirected all the traffic I was complaining about to them. Took them 2 weeks but they had me hauled before a Federal Judge to tell me to stop. The judge vacated the charges on my promise to stop redirecting traffic.
Like all too many F/OSS projects, the documentation is lacking or even incorrect in spots, and supplied examples barely scratch the surface of what the application can do.
Last time I checked you were free to update and contribute to that lack of documentation so many bitch about that is missing or incorrect....
I would have to disagree, they really need a warrant for this.
Following a suspect around town requires a lot of man power, and cost money. So they are more inclined to follow procedures, get proper approvals to setup surveillance on a suspect.
However with the use of a device like this the cost is gone as is the need for the man power required to follow me around all day every day. Now they just stick this device on a car and see where it has been. So what is to keep them in check from just planting these on anyone not even a suspect in an investigation?
Also with actual people following me around, they can guarantee in court that I was the one that went to that hidden evil layer because someone actually saw me driving. Not because some chip told them my car was there...That GPS chip can't the difference of who is driving the car which also means that it provides criminals a way to give them the slip.
Unless it is in a binding contract, with severe penalties, you should never expect a company to "keep its word." This is especially true when keeping said word affects the almighty Bottom Line. Cash is king, peon.
IANL; But I would think that if Ebay stated something to the effect of a level playing field this would fall under a "gentleman's agreement" or verbal contract. Having reneged on that agreement wouldn't they now be in breach of contract?
I've seen people get sued for breaking off an engagement, so I would think you could apply the same here.
Means that when it becomes mainstream, anyone who is familiar with how to configure and use it will be in high demand.
If no one's using it, how will it become mainstream? Quite simple really; Government mandate. Some agency will mandate it or make it part of some policy. From there it will spread into private sector via companies that do business with said agency.
The Agency I work for is already doing just such a thing for new projects. Any company that is running Linux by contract has to secure their system through multiple methods; including SELinux.
Not that I agree with the proposal, but it doesn't relate to the 6th Amendment particularly. And for a real post. Not shit it doesn't since the 6th Amendment deals with your right to have access to a speedy jury trial. Ummm next time google it before you correct someone. From http://www.constitution.org/billofr_.htm
Article the sixth
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
The metric system is the work of the devil, My car gets 40 rods to the hogs head and that is the way I like it.

Actually if you setup dependencies properly even a major network outage won't mail bomb you to badly.
Is the FBI allowed to post on SlashDot?
They can edit wikipedia I'm sure they can post or at least read /.
Any down-mods for this post are an attack on free-speech and I will respond by murdering the president.
Careful with that last part, even said in Jest that is taken very seriously and could be prosecuted by the Feds.
